Hi guys! For the last supplemental essay, how long is your essay for why GRU?

I still haven't gotten my supplemental application for this cycle however last year I think mine was around a paragraph or so. I think as long as you get your point across in a well thought manner you should be fine. Judging by the date on your post however you probably have already submitted your supplemental so hopefully someone else was curious about this as well

When did you submit your application?

Edit: Also, this thursday (7/23/2015) last year (7/24/14) is when the first person in last year's thread got their interview invitation. Here's hoping we get ours soon!

I haven't recieved my supplemental either, but I had it last year already by this time. Not sure why.

When did you submit your application?

My application was submitted on the 10th however I am still waiting on one LOR. I was told that it would be in the second week of June and after multiple emails and one-on-one chats they assure me they are going to put it into the system 'soon' but I'm starting to get really frustrated. :bang:Anyways, I don't think they send out the supplemental until your app is complete so I probably wont get it until that letter is in.

I submitted my complete application on June 28th and still haven't received the supplementary application or any acknowledgment that my application was received. Apparently, there was some glitch and applicants that applied in that batch got delayed🙁. From what I've heard, it should be fixed this week.

okay, for anyone doing supplemental, what is this proposed course schedule page junk? it seems like I should leave the first 4 questions blank.. anyone have ideas?

I'm waiting on my supplemental. Is there any way someone could post the one or more of the questions on it so I can have them prepared to submit when I receive the link? kinda stressing out haha

Are you in state?

Some schools will probably wonder about your low RC score. Are you bilingual by chance?

Hey yes i am from GA and I moved here when i was 16. Yes I am bilingual.

I'm sure being bilingual is attractive to a school. Are you Hispanic? If you're not white or Asian you'll most definitely stand out, in my opinion.

I actually got interview last year with my lower DAT but i did not get in, so i am hoping this year is different.

I am persian.

Ah, okay. So you would put down white then? I was guessing Hispanic because of your username being Spanish for girl. Yeah, I hope we both have good luck. I interviewed last year as well.

Good luck my gpa just got verified today, so i hope it doesn't take long.

DAT: 21/20 and average volunteer/shadowing hours. For what it's worth this is not my first time applying.

How high are the chances of an OOS applicant getting into GRU? I will be finishing my Masters this semester and have already submitted my AADSAS application, but was thinking about adding GRU. I was under the impression that it was an in-state school only; that's why I left it out first 🙁.

If I was OOS I wouldn't. I believe there are only 10-15 spots for OOS.

Does GRU require 4 letters of recommendation? Or is three okay as long as you have one from a dentist, one from a professor and another of your choice?

Congrats!! When was your AADSAS mail out date and your application complete email date?

I don't remember exactly when my application was mailed out but my application was complete around the end of last month.

They require 4 individual letters or a committee letter. The 4 individual letters must be from 1 dentist, 1 academic professional, and 2 from either another dentist, academic advocate, or personal reference. There's a more detailed answer on their website here: http://www.gru.edu/dentalmedicine/admit/applications.php

Does anyone have any idea of reapplicant success at GRU? I got waitlisted this past cycle and was just wondering!

On Section K of the supplemental application would it be a bad idea to talk about the possibility of pursuing orthodontics? I've heard mixed things about keeping it strictly dental and not really talking much about specializations throughout the application process.

I would not. Any time I have talked to students or faculty they try to discourage talking about any specialties during the application process.

Interview invite! Notification today through email, OOS 🙂
GPA: 3.63 science/3.49 BCP/3.75 overall
DAT (AA/TS/PAT/Reading/any section below a 17): 22 AA/22 TS/20 PAT/24 RC/none

Interview invite!! Just received an email for sep 10 and 11th!

I'm a little behind, but does anyone have advice for the section labelled "Other responsibilities and information"? I really have no idea what they'd be looking for....

"

That is the section if you want to mention if you have worked while in college; if you are responsible for a wife, child, ill relative. Anything that would have forced you to do more than the average student. This information is taken into consideration when we are looking at applicants who can handle adversity and still do well overall.
