PS = 10
VS = 11
BS = 10

Tot = 31

A little disapointed to be honest. Dont know if I am going to retake or not.

Ouch! Ya I think the lowest MD schools accept is 8 so I would retake. It actually hurts me to say this to you with such an amazing PS and BS score. I wish you the best

I know people that have gotten in with 7s in verbal, although very rare. And he's definitely one of those people that could easily get in with a 7.

I have 3.7 overall
3.6 sciGPA
I am a African american female
FL resident
I am a mentor for Palm Beach County
I worked as a tutor
And I am looking for a CNA/HHA job now.

You will get many DO acceptances. I think you should apply to some mid-to-low tiers MD as well. I think you might have some luck... I am also an African living in Palm Beach.

Nah, a friend of mine got 4 interviews and so far one acceptance with a 7 in VR. It makes you less competitive, but it's not the end all. Their MCAT score was sub 30 also.

Totally a bummer for me. 36 (14PS /7VR /15BS). Should I retake guys?

Wow, congratulations on the great science section scores. Are you ESL? I know Verbal is extremely challenging for many people, especially those who didn't or don't read a lot for pleasure. Honestly, it can't hurt to apply this year - schools will take a 7, presuming you make it past their screen, but your PS, secondaries, and and activities list should be very well-written to compensate.

A 15 in BS? You're trying to tell us you got a perfect score in the BS section? I don't know if I believe it. This might be a case where some proof is needed...

Chillax. It happens.

To the guy with the 36, I'd probably go ahead and apply unless you think there was a fluke that led to that low verbal score, you're not bothered about waiting longer, or you have a compelling reason for applying to schools where a 7 might disqualify you. Are you ESL?

Good luck and congratulations to the rest of you! May you all exceed your expectations.

I don't have to prove to you because I am going to retake with that 7 on VR anyway.
Yes, I am an ESL, but my AAMC's VR average was 8 🙁

First try: 9/1/12
32O (11V, 11P, 10B)

Second try: 1/24/13
35 (11V, 12P, 12B)

I've always been good at verbal, so I didn't study it at all. Kinda regretting that, but can't complain.

I took a Kaplan course for the first round. Then took a couple months off and took January to reprepare. Used a Princeton Review book to get through all the material and then used Kaplan 45 to go through the things I was having trouble with. This was all while working full time (I wasn't working while getting ready the first time).

But the biggest difference is this: I got a great night of sleep the night before and ate a solid breakfast.

Great Score... A friend of mine had the exact same score as you with a 7 in VR and he got into Case Western Med School which is considered to be a great school ...
What material and practice passages did you use for Bio?

I used TPR, but I think my 15 on BS is mainly due to the fact that I majored in Molecular/ Cell Bio at UCLA 🙂

Thanks 🙂 Thats awesome ..... But seriously a 7 and ESL is a very very very very common thing and you shouldn't think about any retake... Just enjoy it you did great ... I hope I do the Same 🙁(((

Hmmmm not sure what to think. Thoughts??

PS: 11
VR: 10
BS: 11

Overall: Balanced 32

I knew the verbal would be lower than usual I wasn't prepared for the font change from my laptop hahaha oy vey.

I suffered a TBI a year ago and this was the first test I have taken since without any accommodations so I feel good but not sure this is what I want to apply to med schools with..ugh

However just happy its above 30 :soexcited:

My mcat score is within my average AAMC score but I really thought I did better, feeling a disappointed I started studying since May 2012 and only got a 24 8/8/8.

I am not sad because I know I will probably be accepted to D.O. school but I am not as happy as I thought I would of been.
My dad and I both realize if I had taken more science classes ( anatomy and physiology, biochem, etc) I would of done better but what is done is done.

Are you able/willing to share your flash cards? 😳

I've thought about selling them, or even waiting until after I have an acceptance before giving them away, but:

A) Making the flashcards as I read through the review books was a great way to ensure I was paying attention to what I was reviewing, and you'd miss out on that 👎
B) They contain copyrighted material from The Berkeley Review, which I wouldn't want to distribute without permission 👎

Where's my man DBate? Looks like another piracy problem has come up.

V: 12

P: 12

B: 11

😱

Totally unexpected seeing as how my AAMC practice test average was a 30.6

I am just so relieved that this test is finally done. I might do a detailed post in the 30+ thread later, but I hope everyone is happy with their score!

lucky Bastard .... Just kidding ... Congrats really great score 🙂

Congratulations to all who got a score of 30 or more on their exams. Thank you for sharing your scores. I think if you got 10 or more on each section, you are competitive and now what is left is your extracurricular and personal statement. For those who did not get what they expected, you can do it - second or third times the charm!

There are some really great scores posted here. Congratulations! Do you mind sharing your strategies, study material and TBR passage scores if applicable?

I realize since I only got a 24 I am NOT going to sell my materials just in case I do not get in.

You need to stop worrying. A balanced 24 combined with your above average GPA plus your URM status will land you multiple acceptances for DO schools.

Honestly, if I get your score (8,8,8) on my retake I don't think I will try a third time, and my GPA is significantly lower than yours, and I'm not a URM.

As long as you don't act like a ****** during your interviews, you are a foot in. Celebrate.

yayyy im really happy with my score. met my goal of 11+ for all sections, so im keeping it 🙂

This was my second time around taking it and by now i'm definitely biased AGAINST Berkeley Review. Just didn't work for my study style. Way too detailed, not easy to read, and questions are time consuming and destroy my confidence.

I'm super grateful for the TPR hyperlearning books (colorful, additional detail makes me confident instead of overwhelmed), and the TPR verbal workbook (extra practice brought my verbal from a 8 to a 12).

My other tip to retakers - don't give yoursef more than 2 months to study. by now, you know your stuff well. dont study harder, just smarter. practice is way more valuable than review. and don't wear yourself out!

12/13/12

bout crapped my pants when i checked it out.

AAMC of 31/30/31 the month before the test (only practice tests I took).

You must be like me. I always do my best when the adrenaline is flowing. I beat my average by 2 pts.

This is a hard one.

33 (11 PS / 8 VR / 14 BS). Only took one AAMC practice test. Had sleep issues the month before the test and the night before. Felt really slow the morning of the test...like I was drugged (to the point where I didn't read 3 of the VR passages and answered by looking up the answers). On VR practice passages from TPR I scored 10-11. So chances are my VR could go up 2-3 points.

Should I retake?????? :eyebrow:

Lol. Ok. I wrote notes along the way, but I just recently discovered this anki business and really don't have the time to rewrite everything, and on a computer no less. It was worth a try. Congrats on the score!🙂

Lol, shhhhh.

Here are my scores: VR=13, PS=10, BS=8

I don't think you should.

I'm actually really happy with my 31 but I'm just worried because I have a very low science GPA. (As you can tell from my scores I'm not that good at bio.)

PS: 12
VR: 11
BS: 09
Total: 32

I can finally sell these books cluttering my desk! Can't be too upset with the 9 in Bio since I didn't even take my Bio pre-reqs before (whoops!)
