I don't know if u r talking to me. I am Korean, and I say making thread like

this already brings racism and make people think koreans are racist in general

due to so many of this kind exist. Why do we even care about which school

korean people go to? This site is meant to be for everyone who pursue their

dream to become a dentist and help each other no matter what their races

students go to but we don't care about other students who are not korean is

I kinda understand where you (Joon) can be coming from, but the creator probably didn't do it purposely to exclude others, just to be friendly.

I guess I went through that phase in high school (to a certain extent), and after awhile, I just let things go. Who cares.

Every thread in this forum (or others) are subject to criticism, and you are entitled to your opinion.

Let's just try to be a little more friendly; everyone here is here to help and encourage others.

**On a personal note, I was angry the other day because someone thought I was being racist, when indeed I was not. How can I try to be equal to people if they preconceive me to be racist? In other words, those people who prejudge others in fact make non-racist people into racist people, and it's a never-ending cycle.

Everyone has their own opinion, and Joon, I see that you have yours, too. I guess that's fine, but I just hope that eventually you come to a more peaceful stance, for your own sake.

I'm also from Northern Virginia, but I'm in Charlottesville because I attend the University of Virginia, and I can honestly say that NOT every Korean I know is how you describe them to be. So next time you post an ignorant comment, I would really think about WHO is the one with the stereotypes... and WHO is the one being racist.

This is completely off-topic, but I want to get some opinions about cosmetic surgeries from Koreans. Cosmetic surgeries is booming in every culture and every country, but I think it's fair to say that it is most notable recently in Korea with some implication that it is now becoming a cultural thing (jobs, marriage, etc) not much difference than the myth (don't know if it's true) that it's not uncommon that a graduation present in Texas from parent to daughter is a a boob job. How prevalence is getting something done among Korean and has it really become so integrated.

I personally find cosmetic surgery to be an immediate turn of (Ironically, this is a superficial quality, but I can't help it) and the fact that the public is becoming more aware and acceptable of it (Dr. 90210) is a little disturbing to me. Pretty soon, everyone will start looking like a girly pop singer (male and female).

Due to the booming western influence, everyone defined what beauty is based on western standard.

Therefore, double eyelids became more attractive.

Now, youth has taken over that role. Everyone wants to look younger, and surgeries somewhat delay the aging process artificially.

this is all i have to say.

every ethnic group tends to feel more comfortable with their own kind, for various reasons including feelings of kinship.

that's why you have chinatown, k-town, insert ethnic group-town, heck you even have Little Italy in many major cities.

i can understand why people would complain of racism because what if someone put "where are my white people going! =))))!!!!" that would definitely raise a few eyebrows.

i'm korean at ucla. yes, there are koreans that self-segregate themselves here... just like every other friggin' ethnic group here. in highschool that was my group, the asians, but we kicked it with the middle-easterners and skater white boys.

here at UCLA, I was kind of sick of the aZn clique so i tried something different. now i'm part of a so-called "white" fraternity and i'm the only asian in the house lol. but it's working out well.

i hate being politically correct so even if there are undertones of racism in this topic, i really couldn't give a damn haha.
