Did anyone who had their interview Jan. 17 hear anything yet from LECOM? I looked at my Admission Status on the portal and it changed to,

" The Admissions Committee has made a decision on your application. You will receive an official letter in the mail within 30 days."

Has anyone gotten a letter or an email or a call in regards to anything yet?

Which was a tad surprising, because I thought the interview went off decently (I never liked to comment on how I felt about the interview, because I obviously didn't know if I'd get in or not, and that would be a successful interview, I'd say--one in which admission was granted).

It's okay though, I really hope the applicants who truly want to attend LECOM are granted admission!

From what I can tell, this status doesnt mean anything bc some who were accepted and some who were rejected also received this same status....correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm also in the same boat as you..
 
I interviewed last week and got an email the next day. My aadsas still says Received/Waiting Additional Information. I don't think aadsas is a good indicator of where the application stands. Hope this helps

Just to make sure I'm understanding you correctly..you interviewed on Jan 24th and got an acceptance email on the 25th?

Also...I am not sure about everyone else, but LECOM has never shown up on my AADSAS.
 
LECOM didnt appear on my aadsas until after i was accepted..stephanie told us they dont update it throughout the whole application cycle

You got an email acceptance? I thought they would call or send a letter? I interviewed that day too and I am still waiting...
 
I got accepted but no aadsas status, just letter of acceptance

it was the 'your app is with the admissions committee. you will be notified when a decision has been made' or however that went. then i got the acceptance call and within minutes it changed to the 'a decision has been made. you will receive a letter within 30 days' thing.
 
Woke up to my phone on vibrate. Got the acceptance call at 10 AM. I'm going back to sleep. I hope that wasn't a dream.
 
Just received a letter in the mail to be on the alternate list. Interviewed on 1/24. This letter came after my lecom portal changed to "a decision has been made..will receive a letter in 30 days.."

Hope this helps anyone else who's waiting to hear back from LECOM! and good luck!!!

I was originally scheduled to interview on 11/2/12, but I was stranded in Brooklyn with Sandy. Stephanie was kind enough to reschedule for me and I interviewed on 12/7/12.
 
I received an interview invite for the end of february late last week, but i'm turning it down.
 
Well.... I just noticed that my status has changed to "The Admissions Committee has made a decision on your application. You will receive an official letter in the mail within 30 days" at some point tonight. So I'm assuming that it will either be a rejection or alternate position. Really felt good about the interview and thought I would get an acceptance to this school. Anyone have their status change to this and still receive an acceptance?

people need to stop thinking that the interview is make it or break it deal. There are so many factors when ADCOMs decide on your application as a whole. You are judged against the rest of the pool. GPA, DAT, ECs, and PS all factor in. Take a look over the pre-med forums and you see their testimony. I walked out of my LECOM interview thinking it was the worst since I didnt answer much compared to the rest of my group, in fact, I was always the last to answer while 2 applicants were talking most of the time. I figured out that if you were conservative, didnt fight to answer the question, spoke when spoken to or asked then you should be fine. again I spoke the very least out of 8 of us.
LECOM is by far the worst interview experience I've had (i had 12 interviews). expect the unexpected

Many of the current LECOM students told me not to fight to answer or get your point across. Respect your peers and just nod when they answer.

besides.. you got a status update and now it could mean either acceptance, alternate, or rejection. anything is possible now. I remember a few got acceptance letters without a call given.

if it makes you feel better, call stephanie in the morning and she will tell you your status.
 
I didn't mean to piss you off...my bad. I have just always felt like your stats, EC's, and personal statement are what get you the interviews. Once you got the interview, the stats no longer matter and the decision is based on how you interview. I guess that I misread some other forums and have it a little wrong. I'll just wait patiently. Just thought I would ask if anyone has heard good news with receiving that status update.

u didnt piss me off lol. im just saying its so much more than just the interview. Its a numbers game and always will be.

Yeah I see what you mean. I guess I am just frustrated because I felt like they were interested, and my stats and EC's are very competitive. I just really want to get accepted!

just letting u know, Im dropping LECOM so hopefully you will get it by end of Feb. I need to make a deposit at my other school (Im still waiting for my state schools as well).

i know how u feel by being frustrated, heck I was waitlisted at 6 schools and rejected by UCSF (post-interview and it was my top choice). That gutted me so much I was so sad but LECOM offered me on 12/17. I felt so happy and blessed! You will get it soon, dont worry about it, let your life run along and let it happen unexpectedly, its alot better that way.
 
Acceptance email this morning! Plus one, but am waiting to hear from a couple more to make my final decision. Feeling very blessed this morning!
 
Just called today (2/6/13 @ 3:00 PM Eastern) and admissions said that they sound out this month's round of acceptances, but are still considering a few candidates

When did you all interview? I interviewed on 1/24 and my LECOM portal still says...

"Your file is under review by the Admissions Committee. We will notify you as soon as a decision has been made"

I thought I would have heard something by now! I know a few people who I interviewed with and they heard within a week of the interview.

What phone number did you call!? I have been calling for a few days and no one ever answers. I have left messages on a few different answering machines and I am wondering if I am calling the right number. One voice mail was for Stephanie and she no longer works there.

I KNOW !!!

i kept calling last 2 days, no one picks up. so called the main LECOM office and they transferred to Dental Admissions, still no answer

Sorry to change the subject, but is this true? Can anyone verify this? Stephanie is the best, I hope she still works there!

I called this number yesterday and got a hold of someone. They close pretty early so that may have been your problem.
