****The Official LOMA LINDA Class of 2017 Interview/Acceptance Thread****

Me too! What does that mean?? Does that mean that they finally got to my file yesterday and since I didn't get a call it's bad news? I hope not!! I'm freaking out 🙁
Has anyone noticed that before they got accepted/rejected? I really hope it just means they're going to look at our file at the next committee meeting.

I got wait-listed this morning 🙁

Has anyone been accepted to LLU without a spiritual leader recommendation?

Sorry to hear that. But waitlist is better than nothing! Stay positive.

Probably is.. got nothing to lose.

got rejection :email 🙁.
Congrats for those who got in and good luck to those who are still waiting.

Anyone know if the class is full? Or what the wait list movement is usually like? I was wait listed about a month ago.

Well, there are about 60 people who are members of the Facebook group. Whether that is a good representation of students attending or not, I don't know. Last year, the entering class was 96 students I think. Though, I was told by the head of the Perio department that LLU was going to start limiting the class size to around 80 to have a better student-faculty in the clinic. I bet if you called and asked, they would let you know. Cindy is hands down the nicest admissions secretary of any dental school.

About 80 something spots have been taken.

Wait list.. still hoping for the best..
Any idea what the odds are of getting off the list? Or when we would hear back?

me too.. waitlisted
i feel like there's no way to predict when we would potentially hear back??

You will probably find out soon since the second deposit is due may 1.

Do you happen to know what the class size might be and how many people have accepted spots? I heard that they were cutting class size to ~80 so I just wanted to get some insight.

The head of the Perio dept. told me they want to limit the class size to about 80 rather than the 100 it has been the past few years. Though I have no clue if they were doing it this cycle or not.

I heard they were slowly transitioning to a class size of 80 by decreasing seats by 5 per year... so this year, it might be 95 or 90 total seats?

Maybe your right. The class size have been decreasing 3/4 spots for the past few years.

when i checked the other day... the class count was at around 88 or something like that. but that number can drop if people do not pay their 2nd deposits

How did you check the class count?

On a website for current students. It's like a portal for discussions and news updates.

did anyone get accepted without a spiritual leader letter?

Anyone know about anything regarding alternate list movement yet? Isnt may 1 the deadline for the 2nd deposit?

Any idea how many people they usually put on the wait list?

i think i read/heard it was around 20-30? not completely sure though

Does anyone knows about the alternate list movement?
Should I reapply for 2014 cycle?
I got the waiting list email on Feb 4th but havn't heard yet.

from what i know.. there has been no movement. the number of enrolled students has been stuck at 88 for a while now. but who knows? keep your head up!

Any news of any movement or if the enrollment number is capped at 88?

Hi everyone. I am applying for this cycle. I have a spiritual leader letter of recommendation but I cannot send it to them until they ask for it with the secondary app. because AADSAS only allows 4 letters of rec. to be uploaded. Is this ok, or will it hurt my chances? Also I am catholic, and wondering how this affects my acceptance to LLU? Any advice would be really helpful!

one of the reasons why i didnt apply to LLU is that I am catholic and seeing the statistics of previous years, but were accepted.

but go ahead and apply!

Already replied to your other duplicate post.

Use your 4 AADSAS letters on a Dentist, two science professors, and a professional recommendation from any previous jobs. Send the spiritual leader letter separately directly to LLU as they are the only school I know of that requires that type of letter. Sending it in with the secondary will not affect your chances. Being Catholic doesn't help your chances of getting into LLU, as statistically they've only accepted 4 Catholics per cycle in the last three years. That shouldn't stop you from applying though. It didn't stop me from applying and I was accepted to LLU last December. I'm Catholic.

You guys, Loma Linda only graduated HALF of theit last class. The other half is still here, starting their FIFTH year, and paying tuition for it. To top it off, the school took away a lot of the upcoming senior's clinic time, AND increased their point requirement by 100. Good luck graduating on time.

It was more than half, and many students need a couple weeks or a month to finish up requirements. There is no tuition charge for the summer quarter after grad.

Dental school is not easy, nor is it meant to be. Be prepared to work hard in order to graduate.

You would be in the minority, but there are always Catholics there, such as myself.

Congrats to those who have interviewed and been accepted into Loma Linda-
I am an alumni of the school who graduated in 2012 and am currently working- I have 2 rooms in the mission creek community available for rent- $500 per room including utilities.
It is a beautiful community with parks, tennis courts, basketball courts, walking trails, park benches, bbqs, gazebos, and even a mini golf section- it is about a 5 minute drive to the campus
the house was built in 2007 and is newly renovated with all the bells and whistles- if you or anyone you know are interested please pm me
no gender preference 🙂
and congrats again! Going to Loma Linda was a great experience for myself, and I wish you all the best 👍

Hello. I'm an incoming first year dental student. Is there anyone looking for a roommate? I would like a place close to the school.
