You can expect an interview invite soon. If you do not hear back after a while I would email them about it.

May I ask when was your secondary received by the school?:/ Still sitting here waiting for something..

Hey, I came across this post and wanted to say something. This seems like a common misconception, and I wanted to clear things up. So basically, I know several people who have gone this route of three years undergrad and then matriculating into Loma Linda. These people were all in SDA universities, and fulfilled all their undergraduate as well as the predental requirements in three years. So this is not comparable to UoP's or other dental schools' accelerated programs, because there is no guaranteed admission in these cases, but instead, a chance for "early" application (not really, because they basically graduated in three years)-- and of course, students attending SDA universities are favored for admissions, making it seem like there may be an accelerated program.


I hope this alleviates some worries, and good luck to everyone!

Congrats and good luck for your interview! Sadly, I sent mines out in September but still haven't heard back. I'll pray for the best! :)

Try calling the school for an update? I still haven't technically received the interview email from them, but I called to confirm.

Yes I will try calling tomorrow. By any chance are you SDA or from a sister school (La Sierra/Pacific Union College)? If its too personal, you don't have to answer :)

Oh, I don't mind answering :) I do not attend the sister schools or any of the SDA universities. However, I am SDA.

Not sure how many have decided on this place yet but after some very serious thought the past couple of months I'm turning down UoP, Columbia and my state school Utah to come here (and anywhere else I might get accepted to).

I've heard nothing but great things about this place and hope some of you are my future classmates!

Wow LLU would generally be last on that short list of schools for most peoplw. I wish you the best! You will be a great dentist/specialist regardless of where you go

What were your guys stats that got accepted? (GPA, DAT, Volunteer, Shadow Hours)
 
3.5 oGPA, 3.4 sGPA, DAT AA 23, TS 22, PAT 22. Very little volunteering, like 20 hours? Shadowing around 100. A lot of research (idk if that helped me get in though)

I had a 3.93 overall and 3.9 Sci.
24AA on the DAT
Around 100 shadowing
Lots of service (especially through church).

I think being religious and active in your faith is the most important followed by GPA/Dat.

Did they ask about your mission? Im at BYUI, so I am hoping they don't just accept SDA because I would love to go to Loma Linda too. I apply next cycle.

They love BYU/Mormon students. Obviously they won't take all SDA guys and LDS are pretty similar so they love us. I'm sure they try to take a few each year.

They talked about how few BYU guys they've had and it's possibly because Utah and Roseman opening schools and I was like, well I'm not from Utah I'm from down the street and I think that helped them realize I was serious about coming and not just staying in Utah.

And yes we did talk about my mission, I'm from a family of a Dad who is Catholic and I'm the only active one in my family so that's what we mainly focused on.

Notification date: 12/1/15
Method of notification: email
Residency: Idaho
GPA (science, overall): 3.6, 3.6
DAT (AA/TS/PAT/Reading/any section below a 17): 21/21/19/24/none
 
They usually send out more acceptances on Dec 2, not sure if anyone was waiting. Unfortunately the shooting in California actually happened relatively close to the school. Wouldn't be surprised if that delayed anything since classes were cancelled from what I know. Pray for them.
 
Rejected without interview :(

I was hoping to be classmates with many of you in the future but I suppose it wasn't meant to be. I sincerely hope that everyone else is more fortunate than I was, it is a terrific school.

Also they misspelled 'DAT scores' as 'DAT sores' which made it momentarily humorous before becoming sad again.

So i heard LLU is trying to send out all the acceptance letter by dec, i'm assuming today would be the last day? since they would be going on a break after this week

No school will be completely full by December. In a couple weeks people won't put deposits down and more spots will open.
