**The Official Minnesota Class of 2017 Interview/Acceptance Thread**

Hey I was wondering what everyone's stats were and when they sent in there applications? I applied and haven't heard anything back 🙁 I'm getting scared. My GPA is a 3.3 and I'm afraid it's just too low. I got an interview to Iowa though, so I was hoping MN would be able to look past my GPA too.

i got my interview there. stats below

Got an Interview for the 16th of November (OOS). Definitely one of my top choices!
Anyone else going the 16th?

3.5 cGPA 3.3 sGPA

Hey, ToothbeTold17.
Can I ask when did you apply? I also applied to UMN but haven't hear anything so far.
My app was completed on August.

Has anyone heard of anyone receiving a rejection notification yet? I'm hoping that since I haven't heard anything I'm still under consideration.

I applied in August, had my final letter of rec out by the first week of September.

Has anyone been in the morning group (8am interview)? Were you done by 12:30pm?

Yup. Interviewed in the morning group. Had lunch at noon (left around 12:30pm), and was at the airport (MSP) in time for a 2:30pm flight.

Did you guys send a thank you note after your interview? let me know your thoughts I have heard some people say you should and others say that you should not.

My first application was sent out like the first week of August and the supplemental in like Mid-August. And then I told them to put my application on hold b/c I was retaking my DAT in Early October so officially went to review in October 15th or so. I heard back Yesterday 11/05 for an interview the following friday.

This is one of my top schools so am really excited!

That's Great!! Good Luck! Are you in state or out of state? I am in state. Minnesota is my first choice as well! I called last week and my app was still being reviewed, they received everything from me mid September so I have my fingers crossed to hear soon!

I just got an interview for Jan 7th! Anyone else going in that day? I am so excited this is my first interview! 🙂

Did the staus on AADSAS change for anyone that had an interview?

"Please check back on December 3 for more information regarding your decision status with this school"

Did you interview at Minnesota and, if so, does your AADSAS portal say that?

I was reading NOVA's thread earlier thinking they were all just being crazy... but now I'm freaking out thinking about what this update means. AHHH.

AADSAS is being weird since the admissions people from Minnesota said that I should see it and they dont know why I shouldnt see it

Good to know! I guess they are just clearing out everyone's AADSAS status then, in preparation for Monday.

Hey guys, how does minnesota inform ppl of acceptance? Update AADSAS portal, email, phone call??

Hey for everyone that has interviewed at Minnesota, do you mind just giving a brief overview for what I should expect? It's my first interview ever and I am really nervous! If you could share the types of questions asked or the format of the actual interview, anything would be really helpful and much appreciated!

@Curly Sue, here are some highlights. I had a great time interviewing here.

- heck in was pretty early. You check in and head into a room with all the other interviewees for that session and there is some light breakfast food and drinks. saw the sun rise of Minneapolis = breath-taking

- quick meeting with the admissions staff to make sure you application is complete

- 2 on 1 interview format; pretty laid back. mostly behavioral questions. they have to go through a script, so that 40min session flies

- tour the facilities

- lunch and the Dean said something about go to the cheapest school and a promise to do as much as he could to keep costs of attendance from rising

This was the weirdest part of the day...since MN is crazy expensive. He was basically saying only come here as a last resort if you are OOS. He flat out told our group to go to the cheapest school we got into.

Yup, I agree. I had a great time. One other thing is that I found the area the campus to be very student friendly. UMN seems to go under the radar imo, as it barely gets any talk on sdn, but appears to be a great school with great facilities and faculty.

Good Luck.

i was reading last years thread about minn and tracked down ppl whose status changed to check back....and the ppl who had their status changed got their acceptances on Dec 1st ...
sigh.... my status still says invited for interview.......

Mine still says invited for interview as well. perhaps they didn't get around to telling aadsas everyone? it's happened before.
