Hey thanks for posting! Congrats on the interview too. I am applying to MUSC as well... How was the interview(style, questions asked, etc..)? I am excited about Chucktown!

It was actually really laid back. Before the interviews even start Dr. Javid (who I think is head of admissions) will actually tell you the basic questions they will ask. Things like "why do you want to become a dentist?", "what would you do if you didn't get into dental school this year?", "why do you want to go to MUSC?", and things like that. Some of the questions were them just asking what we like to do in our spare time and just trying to get to know us. The current students actually came in while we were waiting for the interviews and gave us advice based on the people we were interviewing with. It was great!

Congrats to all the interviews, mine is this friday, the 5th. I also heard that the process is fairly laid-back, very excited!

I had a 19 academic, 25 perceptual. I hope it's enough!

don't stress.... just do the best you can! You can always take it again if you don't get the score you like and most dental schools will still consider you if you let them know you are taking it again. Major advice is to focus on the PAT just as much as the AA!

Has anyone else had an interview lately? Mine is this Friday. What should I expect? Is there anything I need to make sure I do or don't do? What types of questions should I prepare myself for?

Are we supposed to take anything with us to the interview? Any kinds of documents or anything?

It depends a lot on who you get. They had like 20 different people doing interviews. One of mine was a retired dentist/professor and talked about himself most of the time, but asked the basics. My second was even better, an education specialist, who asked the basics but was really nice and enthusiastic. My friend got asked if you had 3 wishes what would you wish for.... and I have heard if you were a cartoon who and why..... Also, I think they like if you have questions prepared because it shows you have been preparing. Other than that you get lunch and a tour

Cool. By "the basics", do you mean questions like "why dentistry?" and "why MUSC?"?
Is there anything that I need to take to the interviews with me? Any types of documents or anything? Or just take myself?

Good luck everyone! :xf: Does MUSC only send out acceptances via snail mail?

I heard it was UPS, but I may be wrong.. Starting to get nervous again lol
So nervous! Plus I'm OOS and my interview was pretty recent (November 16th)...so chances are IF there is a UPS for me it could take a while? Haha ahhhhhh

Yea mine was on November 2nd, so I have no clue what to expect either lol. Do you have any clue how long it is after this round of letters before they send another round?

Not a clue, but looking at last years MUSC threads makes it seem like it was totally random and people were receiving them on an individual basis all through December, etc. Who knows!
