I got taken off the WL finally. I mostly just dealt with my Admissions Officer WHO WAS SUPER HELPFUL. I can tell she really advocated for me. I really just annoyed her with emails and updates. I showed my continued interest all the time. I think that is just what it takes sometimes. I also said I was ready and willing to pay the deposit right away. Dunno if that helped or not.

Thanks! So I guess there's hope for me too then. I'm on the wait list and went to school on the West Coast. Hope they like Californians!
 
hey guys, big congrats to those of you accepted!!! would you mind giving us hopefuls some more information regarding manner of acceptance... email or phone? time of day?

I got a phone call first from my Admissions Officer asking about whether I am truly interested and if I would have any problems depositing. Then I got a call 15 minutes later from her stating I have been admitted into the class. Just keep following up with your admissions officer. Mine was so helpful and understood the stresses of the process.

21 AA 22 TS and a 3.4 overall GPA. I just kept giving updates on my shadowing and unofficial transcripts. I had two additional letters of rec written on my behalf too. I got accepted end of last week. Just keep reaching out to your admissions officer.

which email did you send your updates too? the admissions (Dr. Meija) one ?
 
Just got taken off the WL 30 min ago.
21 AA 21 TS and a 3.79 overall GPA
Interviewed in Nov.
CA resident.
I kept showing my continued interest in the program. Since I graduated last year, I told my admissions officer that I am still shadowing and volunteering. Also I confirmed that I was ready and willing to pay the deposit right away. Got a call from Dr. Mejia asking the reason why I choose NYU. Then 1.5 hours later, my admissions officer called to let me know that I got accepted off the WL.
 
Once again the sun sets and casts a shadow over me. Each day this shadow seems to last longer, and it consumes me from within. Oh what have I gotten myself into. Dental gods please have sympathy for this soul.

When you say you stayed in touch with your admissions officer does that mean you were sending an email to NYUCD email and directing it to your admissions officer?

Edit. Also how did you find the admissions officer email?

Do you remember your admissions officers name? Look it up in the directory.
 
Email directly to their admissions email, and one of the admissions officers will likely reply to you. I was lucky enough to meet the admission officer directly handling my application during my interview there, so every time I emailed/called the office I always asked for her specifically. All my further communication between the time of my interview and time of acceptance was always with her.

Hope this helps anyone else that has NYU at the top of their list 🙂
 
Accepted off the waitlist yesterday. Staying in touch with Dr. Mejia was extremely important. Best of luck to everyone and I look forward to August!

Congrats!! Did you talk to Dr. Mejia directly?? I emailed her and tried to call but I never had the chance to talk/response from her.
 
The people accepted off the waitlist seem to be from the west coast to allow them enough time to get settled in. It makes sense and follows the trends from previous cycles. If you're on the east coast you'll probably hear later during the cycle...

California. If you check the members joining the FB group they're from the west coast; just don't lose hope but be aware that the closer to August the chances of you making that move and finding housing/signing that lease is logistically harder.

been monitoring the FB group like a hawk. I hope some of them are comfortable with creeps looking at where they come from and what not loool. As of now its really only gone up by 1-2 people since yesterday..... mainly out of state people. In state should be coming soon.

Its a group for a bunch of upperclassmen and D1's to talk. A lot of upperclassmen join to get new roommates and all that stuff... some are just curious. It may just cap around 400 something.... orrrrrr it could be quickly filling up. Just my speculation

Have a feeling this guy is trolling..... looking at his earlier posts from March 29, 2016 he said, AND I QUOTE..."im thinking about declining my interview. I know that the seats are almost filled, and my stats are pretty bad. I have 3.1 gpa and 19AA. man, i guess ill decline this interview invitation." May I ask, how did ya jump 5 points AA and .2 GPA within a couple of weeks good sir, who is "highly considered"?

i definitely haven't, but i do make regular contact with the admissions offices

I got one but it was a response to an email I sent

I sent an email on Tuesday and they got back to me on Friday but nothing about getting off the waitlist...
