Dude. They wouldn't ask you to have your medical ready if they didnt plan on accepting you. Congrats!
 
hi guys. i received a rejection email the other night. interviewed first week of March. Anyways, i wish you all the best. I will be seeing some of you for the 2021 application cycle. good luck.

Interviews this cycle? Pretty sure that schools are not administering interviews anymore. That period has passed a LONG time ago.
 
I see that some of you were informed that:

1. The committee met at the end of last week to determine the next waitlist batch.
2. There will be movement very soon?

Just wondering if you guys heard back. Contrary to previous years, it seems very quiet. Any update would be great
 
I was informed that the admissions committee will be notifying wait list applicants of their status very soon. The only problem is that "very soon" can imply tomorrow, the end of this week, 2 weeks from today, three weeks, etc.. I'll be honest though... at this point in the cycle I doubt that there will be significant or any movement at all. We should all just prepare for the worst and reapply or proceed with our respective contingency plans.

Will keep everyone updated on any information that I may come across. You all have made this wait list ordeal much more bearable throughout the past few months. Thank you.

Would you be accepting the offer if they gave it to you? Where else have you been admitted? You have great scores... are you deciding between schools?
 
has anyone heard back recently? Wont be surprised if the class is full.

Don't think so … there are going to be folks who holding multiple seats and then drop the ones they don't want at the last second, always, always… But the percentage is low…

Nothing on my end. If anything, I genuinely believe that we should be hearing by the end of this week or sometime next week

I saw couple ppl got in during the week before orientation in cycle 2014-2015, and this happened to me at early July this cycle, too. So I am assuming those spots are from the ones have multiple offers… But thank you for correction =)

It is possible that some applicants do not notify schools that they decided not to attend. I do not know this for sure but when I talked to admission offices, they mentioned applicants may get accepted on the first day of classes, as some never show up.

That's going to be a hell of a story. Make sure you reward yourself and celebrate! After that, there's lots for you to do. It's going to be a whirlwind for the next 3 or so weeks, but so worth it.
This is great news!
 
Haha unfortunately for the rest of us, that means out chances of getting off the wait list just dropped significantly.
 
From what I have heard there may have been anywhere from 1-4 seats prior. So at this point, the class is more than likely full. Granted there may be an addition 1-2 students who may be accepted. No one knows
 
What have you guys been saying when you contact the admissions office? Also, have you been directly talking to Dr. Meija or just an admissions officer? I've been in contact with just the admissions officer, Jennifer, for a while. She's been extremely nice and has even said that she would advocate for me. Sadly, no word for me off the waitlist, maybe because Dr. Meija has the final say on who gets off the waitlist first..?
 
Guys let me know if anyone wants info on housing/acceptance process or anything else! I know for everyone that will get accepted in the next few weeks it will be very stressful to get everything together. I am here to help! 🙂

P.S. There is still about 2 weeks left for last minute acceptances so some of you are still in the game!

When is Tuition due? I was told by admissions that they were expecting seats to drop right before then!

Can't believe there is less than 2 weeks left. Any and all updates would be greatly appreciated.
 
Its been a long, long wait but finally got the acceptance call Thursday (8/4) afternoon.
I haven't posted in here, but Ive been keeping an eye on this thread every since I was wait-listed in Feb.
Best of luck to anyone still hanging in there, and I look forward to meeting some of you in a couple weeks!

Congratz! But I was wondering if you received a phone call similar to pgex2t's?
 
:bag::bag::bag:Called admissions and their generic response of "wait list is still under review" changed to "movement is VERY SLOW and students will be admitted on a case to case basis based on whether or not a seat becomes available." :bag::bag::bag:

Has anyone heard back anything? Has anyone been told the same thing?

I personally haven't.
Considering how tuition was due today, there may be one or two additional seats that may open up. Let's hope for the best!! Good luck everyone.
 
I was waitlisted at this school after interviewing in March. I received a rejection email today. I am thankful to already be attending another great dental school, but I loved NYU and believe that if I had been accepted earlier my life would be very different right now!
