I doubt it, unfortunately. When I called a few days ago, November 30 and December 1 were the earliest dates available. If you got the interview email, call them back asap. They might have December 1 available at best, and apparently last year they sent out decisions for those who interviewed that day as well.

I stayed at Cervelo's place the night before my NYU interview, and it was awesome! I highly recommend it!

He gave me pointers for the interview, answered the many questions I had about the school/NYC (I'm not from NY), and even walked me to my interview location the morning of so I wouldn't get lost! Plus, you'll save a lot of money (hotels in the area seem to run $200+ a night)!

10/10 would stay again!

I stayed with @ddsdmddds for my interview last week. Her place is literally a 3-minute walk from the school. She let me stay in her room which is very spacious and the bed is super comfortable. Most importantly, @ddsdmddds is a very nice host. She went out to dinner with me and gave me plenty of advice for the interview as well as for navigating NYC (it was my first time in the Big Apple). I'm so glad I stayed at her place and made a new friend. I would highly recommend this for anyone who is planning for an interview at NYU.

As for the school itself, the only concern that I'm having is the big class size (and of course the astronomical cost of attendance). Other than that, NYU is definitely a superb d-school.

Does anyone know at what time/how NYU notifies their interviewees on Dec. 1st?
 
Just totally curious, but for those of who had their interviews already, have you been asked the question, "Does the city (aka NYC) intimidate you in any way?"

lol that's such a weird question. No not for me .. my entire extended family lives there and my cousins are 1st and 3rd years at NYU so I'm sure they thought, if anything, being in NYC would help me? Are you from a small city?

Nope, but both the faculty and adcom interviewers said something along the lines of "oh, you'll fit right in since you've lived in an urban area for so long."

Yeah same. I live in one of the largest cities of the US so idk if that's why I wasn't asked.

That might be why. Completely anectodal, but I heard that NYUCD wants to make sure that applicants can adjust to life in a major city. Which I suppose is reasonable

Me too! I'm trying to figure out which day to interview in the next two weeks, I might choose the 12th if possible :highfive: I was hoping to schedule in January but when I called to ask they said that they don't have their schedule for that yet. Do you know what hotel you'll be staying at? I'm currently looking up plane tickets and hotels and the prices are crazy... 😵
