What is NYU specifically looking for (in an applicant) though?

Same here haha. Waitlisted, listed no other interviews, great DAT score and not a high GPA either.
 
I wrote down the 3 other interviews i had on the paper. OOS applicant 3.5 oGPA 21 AA on DAT... interview was November 11. Accepted.

Waitlisted
GPA: 3.5/3.2
DAT: 25AA/23TS/20PAT/25RC
ECs: ~300 hr volunteering/~200 hr shadowing
OOS applicant; didn't have any other interviews to write on supp

I think my low sGPA probably did me in
 
Congratulations to all those accepted! Looking at everyone's posts also has me scared since I really want to go there, and my stats don't compare at all (in my opinion) to most of those waitlisted. Praying for those to transform into eventual acceptances for you! Since I interviewed yesterday, I was told that I wouldn't get to know of a decision until 2-3 weeks. Frantically waiting until then...

Im not going to put the effort in doing this but for those of you who really want to get into NYU,

Email them a letter of intent and updates along the way to show that you really want in.

They waitlist many qualified applicants because, frankly many of us are going somewhere else so they want to know who really wants NYU.

Yeppp...it is true. I emailed a letter of interest a while back and boom---received an invite this morning.

My bad. This works for ppl wanting an interview too!

I interviewed at NYU early this week and got in yesterday, but I will be declining my spot! Good luck everyone!

I emailed them today for an interview as well. I hope I get the same results as you lol 🙂 When are you interviewing?

Absolutely cannot believe it.
22 AA 22 TS 23 PAT
3.92 gpa ~3.85 SGPA (So guys I don't think it's about the low GPA)
I though the interview went really well. The dental student showing us around told us to email Dr. Meija, so not having done that might have ruined my chances.

I only applied to 2 others schools, namely, touro and nevada. I got into Nevada and have my Touro interview on the 7th. I wrote down those 2 schools on the handout they gave us.
 
Hey guys! just wanna say congrats to everyone accepted to NYU and for those who are waiting to hear back, don't worry you guys are rockstars and will all get in somewhere for sure, if not NYU!

I am for sure going to NYU and wanted to know if anyone wanted to make an official Facebook group for the class of 2021? That would be awesome to kinda get to know your classmates before entering!
 
got an interview invite today at 3:00PM EST
sounded like they had a few spots to fill this week and the next.
Last interview date for December is the 16th

I've been thinking about messaging them about my application as well. Noticing you have similar stats, I might just try my luck!

I just said I was wondering when I would hear back from them, and that NYU was my top choice, etc. Not sure if they were already planning on inviting me for an interview, and I had just happened to email them out of coincidence haha
 
Interview Invite this morning! I emailed them yesterday as well with some updates to my application so that seems to be a trend here.
I don't think I'll be able to make next week happen with work and flights 🙁 (coming from San Francisco) so I think I'm going to try to schedule for early January.
GPA:3.45 AA:21 PAT:20 TS:20
