Its not so easy to gain in-state residencey in Maryland. Probably your junior or senior or after graduation.

I would check out the Facebook page for the class of 2016. Everyone is discussing housing options on there. With that said, most of them are considering living in the Manayunk area in a student housing complex. Personally, as a Philly native I think Manayunk is a bit far from Temple. Even though you can take the train or the bus, it is a pain in the ass and not really very close to center city, which is where most of the weekend fun goes down. Manayunk has some great spots, but it has a more suburban feel to it. As a city girl, it's not my vibe. I especially wouldn't want to live in a complex with all the other first years either and end up in a dorm environment all over again. But to each his own. I would recommend checking out Center City, but that can be pricey, or South Philly, which is super close to Center City and a straight shot (about 25 minutes) to Temple on the subway. It's also a lot cheaper and you get more bang for your buck. It's definitely not a well known spot for most out of staters, but it's the ideal location (most parts anyway--stay away from 7th to 2nd). I was born and raised in South Philly, so I might be a little partial, but nothing beats being in walking distance from the sports arenas, a 10 minute subway ride from the city, and 5 minutes away from the bridge to Jersey for shopping and summers at the shore. If you (or anyone) wants more info about anything Philly related just hit me up.
 
My perspectives are different than Pedoplanner. I believe living in manayunk wont be bad, you are about 15 min from school, and to be able to live with classmates is ideal your first year. If you live nearby them, you will have more opportunities to actually see them and get to know know them.

I personally believe the city is ideal once you know your classmates.

I read that there are 10 spots left (looks like 9 now... congratsTeethAreGreat), and that Temple is sending out acceptances for these spots thisweek. Does anyone know how true this is and/ or how many spots remain?

Thanks for the congrats. The same person had messaged me telling me about those spots this past weekend. They had just had their interview recently and that's what Brian had told them during their interview. I'm not sure how they will go about sending out the rest. Everyone they send acceptances to won't necessarily accept them either so I don't know. Crossing my fingers for you!

That's impeccable typing with crossed fingers. I guess Temple just got a great set of hands! I thought I heard Brian say 110 deposits were received, so hopefully that means there are still 17 spots… I'll just keep checking my email. Thanks for the response.

Does anyone know if they are still interviewing? I am still waiting for an interview and I am a reapplicant and enrolled in a one year Masters in Biology program. I already sent a letter of intent saying I am really interested in the school etc....but I am starting to loose hope now since its getting to the end of the cycle...

Apologies if this isn’t the best place to post:

One of my current roommates is moving out at the end of this month. There is a bedroom in our house available for a Temple student looking for housing. It’s located in a safe neighborhood in South Philadelphia (google "East Passyunk Ave"), and two blocks away from the Broad Street (Orange Line) subway heading straight to Kornberg (~15 minute ride, stops at the same block as the school). I am an applicant (still waiting:xf:), but the room is open whether or not I get the opportunity to attend.

PM me for more details if anyone is looking for housing and interested – thought this would be a nice option for someone!
 
I just withdrew my spot today from the incoming class.. I'm in-state... Good luck to everyone on the wait list.

Accepted: 4/6/2012 via email from Brian saying "please call me"
He put me on speakerphone to give me news.

During tour he mentioned 15 spots opened up. I know that 4 people from my interview group were accepted. Our group was the last group of interviewees so it was larger than normal.

Did anyone who interviewed feb 9th get in? that was a great bunch of people and I wanna talk to them again
 
Can anyone comment on the video part of interview day? Is it a testimonial or is someone on the other end interviewing you?
 
There is a chick that sets up the video camera and did there as you say your piece in the camera. If you want...you can look at her...and talk more naturally...you can "request her attention" outside she just plays on her iPhone/nos her head as you say your lines into the camera.

I have a question regarding the interview. Is the video interview the only interview we will have or will we interview with the dental faculty over there as well?thanks!

Thanks for writing back! I received an email from them, which had the Interview Agenda and in that it said interview with the advanced standing faculty from 1:30 to 3:00 pm. This was written after the video and written test. Do you think they are sending out old agendas or maybe they changed the pattern a bit now? 😕
 
Hmm that's so strange, mine in October said the video and written from 1:30-3. Maybe they changed it.
 
Yeah that is definitely strange. Could somebody please shed some light on this?! Did anyone interview at Temple in Nov? If yes, then could you please tell us if the video interview was the only interview?
