right?! maybe she can't leave a message from skype for some reason? I don't know how that works. it came in right at 9:30am EST, though, right before nahehes got the call... so the timing is spot on!

Since the calls seem to coming from overseas, Skype makes perfect sense too. Maybe shoot UCSF an email?
 
I called the office and the lady said "it says an email will be sent out sometime this week with a decision"....
I hope I get a phone call before that... she said that she wasn't allowed to see the actual decision.
 
Just received an interview invite for 1/09. OOS applicant. Anyone else in the same boat?
 
Slightly Very miserable right now that there's still no communication for an acceptance...take it as a rejection?? 🙁

Some UCSF D2's are telling me it's too early to tell...could be waitlisted???

it's probably a waitlist or rejection if they said they'll reach you through snail mail though...

I'm in the same boat.

I hope, at least, i'm waitlisted.... just not rejected

What!? During the interview they told us we would know where we stand (accepted, waitlist, rejection) on the 2nd. The guy even said they took pride in not stringing along applicants. I'm very disappointed. I know things happen, but I took him at his word. I will at least wait another day. Foolish or not.
 
snail mail would be rly awkward. i think i'd rather get an email

Likewise. I remember him saying that. If I've been rejected, i wish they would have sent out an email already telling me so that I could cry my heart out at being rejected from my top school, and then move on from it. This small sliver of hope that i haven't been rejected is killing me.
 
Hmm... I don't recall hearing anything about snail mail though. I'm pretty sure it's still acceptance = phone call / rejection = email.

snail mail means for sure rejection or is it the info packets?

Timing of this invite is very interesting. Was expecting 3 pre-dec acceptances, so far nothing, but got this invite instead.

I remember them saying you will get a call first
and if they can't reach you, you will get an email, and you will also get snail mail as well. In what order and the timing of all these events, I have no clue. Just end my misery please.
 
Even though I'd like to be remain hopeful, my gut feeling is that since I haven't heard at this point, i'm probably rejected/waitlisted.

Moving on now to other things, since nothing is bigger and better than an acceptance to my top school...

Got tired of waiting so I called the office.

The lady said that whether you are accepted or not, you should get an email soon.

And that she's not sure on this, but they're not done making first round of notification....

lol that poor lady is probably fed up with all of us calling. >.<

I wish everybody who interviewed pre-Dec KNEW one way or another by now.

Haha. I'm feeling a real sense of camaraderie here. Maybe its just that misery loves company thing. It'd be nice to carry this feeling of "we're all in it together" to dental school with all of you.
 
I was just telling another fellow 'UCSF waiter' on here that at least we have someone to commiserate to. Everybody has been telling me "oh but you got into a dental school," and yes, I know I should be grateful, but this is a dream school, and I feel like the people on this board who are in the same boat as me know exactly how I'm feeling.

No phone call, I got another personal email from the Dean about 5 min after.

I don't think they did a mass email, seems personalized.

Oh god.. this is nerve wrecking

Thank you!, The Dean's letter is worth the wait, He's taking his time. I'm sure there are many more emails to be sent out, considering I am the first to post about one. And I posted instantly haha.
