My email was like half an hour ago, so it seems their doing it one by one maybe?
 
My status on the portal did not change. Maybe it will tomorrow when the portal gets updated? I got a secondary received confirmation email dated 9/19
 
Denied. Well at least I know. At least I got accepted somewhere.
 
I'm sorry hitmans45 and fungames....Watch, mine is coming soon too. 🙁

Oh crap, I still haven't gotten anything from them. Gosh, whatever their decision is, I just want the wait to be over!
 
got a rejection email said "I regret to inform you that your application for admission to the UCSF School of Dentistry for fall 2014 has been denied."

Yess. This number called me to notify the acceptance. (the abroad one! Starting with 661
 
It's too early for the waitlist. They usually send out waitlist emails during the first week of March. For those who haven't heard anything back from them, it's still a good thing, keep your head up. After this week, we could assume they're done with their calls for December. January calls will come after the 01/09 interview.

When did you hear? Did you interview?
 
Nothing here either.....For whatever reason, all of UCSF's previous emails seemed to reach me 4-5 hrs later than they are time stamped. Anyone else with this problem?
 
Just got an interview invite for January, not expecting that since I'm OOS, but cool!
 
Does anyone have any idea what order they're going in, if any? It's soooo nervewracking being at the beginning of the alphabet and interviewed on their 1st day but I haven't heard a peep 🙁

Yep. I'm not certain if I'm going to go or not, haven't looked at the costs yet.
 
UCSF is cheaper than a lot of the OOS schools because of the one year switch tuition. lol so, it might be worth it to attend
 
for the people who got those rejection emails, did your aadsas status update?
 
Nothin'! I have a feeling I won't be hearing back from them until January at the earliest :?

Based on the 2013 ADEA guide, for OOS students who are able to get in state tuition after year 1, the estimated cost of an education at UCSF would be $321,472. This includes all estimated expenses (housing, fees, tuition, transportation, book, etc). Crazy to think that this kind of tuition is considered "reasonable", but compared to many other privates, this is a deal!

good deal! congrats, I might go with pacific to get out a year earlier if your paying the same amount but you have two really awesome schools to pick from! best of luck with your decision

Did anybody receive any snail mail letters from UCSF, rejected or otherwise? I still haven't gotten any emails from then, so I'm going to assume that I've been waitlisted...

No news is good news for UCSF

I just called!

All emails/rejections have been sent out for now.

If you haven't gotten anything, they are still reviewing your file and the next round of offers/rejections will be made MID to END of January.

The waitlist gets formally established February 2014.

So we are not out of the woods yet. Waiting certainly doesn't disqualify you but it kind of sucks that after a whole month and a half you can still be rejected and not offered a place on the waitlist. Cie la vie

So, please let me know if I understand correctly.

UCSF has already sent out X amount of acceptances. 30 days from now those accepted people will either reject UCSF or submit their deposits. In early Jan UCSF will have another interview day. Then, based off how many Dec 2nd people accepted their offer they will admit some January interviewees and re-review some of us pre-december folks still waiting?

Do I understand what's going on correctly?

you are correct. in addition, they might let some of the waiting people in during the re-review to see how we match up with their Jan interviews. Which obviously mean they can reject as well...
