I'm one of those January interviews, guess I'm a bad guy lol. :panda:

Maybe a lot of people will turn down their spots and we can all be friends? :cat:

I'm sad that I still have to wait a bit more, but I do wish you the best for your interview!
 
was chatting with the chief of services at a hospital who does AEGD residency and HIV-AIDS oral health research. I asked whether he would go to UCSF or UPenn.

his response - "UCSF in a heartbeat." (later he did claim that he may be biased. Hhe guest lectured and know some of the faculty members. he loves UCSF)
thumbs up for UCSF.
 
Seems that everyone has a 1/9 interview--anyone have 1/13 interview?

Also what hotels did everyone stay at ?

did you just get an interview invite? when did you receive the "supp received" email?
 
called Mrs. Delilah Williams again today, information was different

thought I should update the people still waiting, you will hear early February vs. previous information of mid/end of Jan. More waiting. T___T
 
I would take whatever the people on the phone say with a grain of salt...I feel like depending on who's on the phone, different information is received. Regardless, waiting is waiting, and waiting sucks.

I feel like information should be more forthcoming and specific as we get closer and closer though right?

I called Sarah Steer's number a few days ago, someone else picked up. I think her name was Christina? Anyway, she told me they won't have any decisions until mid-February. Hopefully we'll hear sooner than that 🙂
 
If you get below a B in a class, does that mean you will automatically be rescinded?

A C+ or lower will send you back into review. Here it is straight from Betbeze's email:

  1. All completed, in progress or planned course work for fall 2013, winter 2014 and/or spring 2014 terms must be completed with a grade of “B-” or higher. If you receive a grade lower than a “B-” you must contact us immediately as your file will be subject to another review, and your offer of admission may be revoked. Failure to notify us of this prior to our receipt of your official grades could also result in your offer of admissions being revoked.

Yeah I have an interview on the 13th. Staying with my cousin in Oakland and meeting with friends to explore the city.

Same here! Now I'm just trying to find out how I'm going to get there...(I have a UCLA interview the next day -which I scheduled prior to receiving the email, so I have to go from LA to SF and back to LA :dead:).

Do any UCSF students know the best/most economical way from LA to SF? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

UCSF to UCLA is only about a 1 hr flight....idk how cheap that would be for you on such short notice, but it's very convenient.
 
I also received an invite for the 1/16 interview. so excites. this is my first one.
 
Just go the SDN dental school interview section and review the UCSF tab.. It's not bad at all
 
Just had my interview yesterday on 1/9. From what I gathered through my interview and what the other ~20 ish people said, it's not too bad but they definitely ask you ethical questions. One guy said he was even talking about politics. Just be prepared.

You interviewed 1/9? Same here. Looking at your avatar, it seems like you like tennis. I met one guy on my interview who likes tennis too. 😀 Don't know if you two are the same person. 😏 They told us we will hear back in about 2-3 weeks the earliest. Do stay in touch! 😉

Is EVERYONE hearing back in 2-3 weeks? That is, both the Post and Pre December interviewees? I interviewed in early November and am still waiting to hear back.

I think those who get accepted will for sure hear back in 2-3 weeks, but for everyone else, they're still interviewing until feb, so if you don't hear anything by late january, expect something to come once they're done interviewing. I interviewed pre-dec at columbia and upenn and am still waiting for a decision after making multiple phone calls to them, so this is not uncommon for schools to do. Just have to deal with it patiently, inquire frequently, and have hope always.

Just had my AADSAS status change from invited to interview to received/under review. The last time this had happened was for a 10/18 interview at columbia that still hasn't gotten back to me. Problem?

Mine did too. I had my interview on the 13th. Looks like we should be hearing from UCSF soon!

Just got an interview invite for the 30th (last interview day). So excited to come out west from NYC!
 
If the last interview day is on the 30th, do they wait until reviewing those applicants to let all the January interviewees know about their status? Or since it's rolling would they decide on earlier January interview applicants before they review the people with the later interview dates?
 
From my understanding from my interview Jan. 16, they will have their next batch of acceptances out by mid-Feb. and them from mid-Feb to the end of Feb. they will send out the wait list and rejections. I could be wrong but that is what I took away from what they said. They also said that no news is good news, so everyone keep your chin up! They are still looking at your application so there is always a chance! Positive thinking 🙂
 
During my interview, they mentioned all the decisions will be made at the end of Feb. -acceptance, rejection, or wait-list. They still have 2 more rounds of interviews to go! So far, they have a little less than half of the class-size filled.

Mine was 1/23. I'm not 100% sure about the dates of the next two interviews. Someone wrote on sdn earlier saying that last one might be 1/30? Another thing is that most people during my interview mentioned that they received interview invitations like a week before, someone even got the invitation even a couple of days before...so you might hear back from them very soon! Stay positive!

I'm sorry to hear..did they contact you through e-mail or the portal?
 
God I reeeeaaaally just want it to be February already, so we can all hear back :/ !
 
I know that the wait list comes out at the end of February but did they say that if you are selected you can hear back as early as mid to end of January (for the people who interviewed at the beginning of the month)? I thought I remember them saying that but I could be wrong.
 
Just got the phone call 3:45pm pacific time. Interview invite. In state.

They have two dates left of interviewing and that's it. The 27th and 30th.

Not sure how full the class size is right now and if they are interviewing for alternate spots.
 
for those who have interviewed what time does the interview day end?
 
Has anyone made a call more recently regarding decisions for January Applicants. I called a few days after my interview on 1/14 and they said some people would hear in January others in early February... As I read the forum the dates bounced around.

At my 1/16 interview they said acceptances out by mid-Feb and wait list/rejections from mid-Feb to end of Feb. They didn't make it sound like they would send many out early Feb so I would say a few more days and people will start hearing back! Good luck everyone 🙂
 
Just got the call 5:48 PM (PST). Interviewed on January 9th. :soexcited:
