It certainly takes you down a notch knowing just having the numbers won't get you through the door but with this many rejections early on and an in depth secondary, you can't help but to think UCSF knows what kind of student they want. I only got the payment confirmation, but since the payment is submitted at the end of your supplemental app I'd imagine it acts as a confirmation for them receiving your app as well.

Yeah I got two different ones. One saying they received my payment (the day I submitted my supplemental), and then about a week later I got one saying they received my supplemental and my application was now complete.

I haven't heard anything either. My payment was confirmed on 8/2/15. The website says that your supp. app won't be processed until 4-6 weeks after you submitted it, and that when it is processed you will receive the "Application Complete" email. I'm thinking that in July they were less busy, but now they have a LOT of apps to sort through and it's taking them much longer to process everything. If you haven't heard anything and it has been less than 4-6 weeks, just sit tight. It will be our time before we know it!

Also note that in last year's thread, batches 5-7ish weren't processed/reviewed until October. Unfortunately.

Try logging in to the supplemental app link and seeing what it says. When I log in it says, "Your supplemental application to the UCSF School of Dentistry has been received. All applications are processed in the order received...."

Yep mine says that too. Also says to wait 4-6 weeks for processing though 🙁

Oh you're right, I remember reading that 4-6 week thing now. Do you know if any pre-dec interviews were given out for the apps processed in October?

Maybe as long as it says that then you're okay? Because my payment was confirmed after yours (8/7/15), so your supplemental would've been processed before mine.

I got an email stating they had received it on August 4th. So I would say to just wait it out, I think it's just a matter of time before they get to your file! 🙂
 
Have any people from first batch not received a reply for interview or rejection yet?
 
My friend who got a 24 AA get an interview but he has almost 700 hrs undergrad research. Just some stats for anyone who interested
 
Got the rejection email tonight. Had about 500 research hours so maybe I needed that extra 200 🙁.

My friend and I (both first batch) haven't heard anything either. We both didn't even get a application received email. We're both CA residents.

Is UCSF on your portal? UCSF showed up on my portal right after I submitted my secondary. Surprisingly UCLA showed up really quickly (probably 2-3 days after I submitted my secondary).

Are you first batch or second batch? I'm second batch. I sent my supplemental application on 8/7 and got application received email on 8/19..
I haven't heard anything yet..
 
How many OOS interviews does UCSF give out? Are they like UCLA with the high interview/acceptance percentage?

Last year was like 80 OOS interviews, about 20 matriculated. Of course no one knows but UCSF how many were accepted.

Last year they accepted 41 of the OOS students they offered interviews to and 14 matriculated. Pretty good odds if you get an interview.

Just a heads up, last year my friend never heard anything from them, which I think is worse than getting rejected since you're just waiting forever. He had a really strong application too. Not sure how often it happens but just letting you know.

Did he ever contact admissions to get an update on his application. I've heard ucsf is pretty good at letting applicants know where they stand

No he never did. Maybe it was just a rare occurrence then.

Congrats on the interview! Did you receive an email for it? my AADSAS portal says invited for interview but I have yet to receive any direct email from them..

Congrats on the interview!! Did you receive an email for it? My AADSAS portal says I got an interview but I have yet to be contacted by them...
 
I got an email before my AADSAS portal updated - it's possible that the invitation email got stuck in your spam filter. I'd give them a call, they can probably confirm the invitation for you.
 
How long did you guys wait before calling UCSF? I know they said something about giving 4-6 weeks to respond after receiving your supplemental, but I am getting close to that deadline without having heard anything.

Thanks for the advice! Unfortunately my spam was empty so still no email. Out of curiosity, what is the decision date on your AADSAS account and when did they email you?

Decision date shows 9/03, they emailed me on 9/03 but the AADSAS portal definitely didn't update until later that day or the next.

interesting.. because mine says 9/02. Im just worried they give you a limited amount of days to schedule an interview and I would miss it because I didn't get any notifications. Is there a deadline to schedule?

You don't really get to pick the date, it's assigned for you and you can only reschedule under very specific circumstances. As for deadlines, the email states:

"You must accept this appointment by sending a reply email to this invitation within 3 days of receipt. If you do not respond by this time, your application will be canceled and you will be ineligible to be considered for fall 2015 admission."

Oh interesting... I wonder if I would be ineligible since its been a week already. They've been impossible to get a hold of too. Thank you for the help tho!!

Do you guys know what batch they are sending invites now? Did it get to July/Aug batches yet?
 
i've seen some late july batches, but nothing in august yet. doesn't mean that they haven't reviewed any august mail-out apps though, that's impossible to say. i was mailed out on 8/13 and sent the secondary back a day after i received it, and i barely received the confirmation that they have placed my app under review as of this morning, so yeah, it's a long process.
