***The Official UCSF Class of 2020 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

Got the rejection today, mail out was 8th batch I believe! For anyone curious my sgpa and ogpa were between 3.25 and 3.46, dat was 26AA and CA residency. Good luck to everyone! Now I know the ucla dental students weren't kidding when they said ucsf has a very specific class in mind haha. Out of the 8ish people I've talked to at ucla, only 1 got into ucsf and all of them got into other places like Columbia, Penn, etc. As a corollary, I know a current ucsf student personally and it was her only acceptance out of 9 schools! Seems like nobody will ever solve the admissions mystery :=|:-):

Why haven't I heard anything? 7th batch, no notification yet. Secondary submitted 6 weeks ago
 
Anyone knows much about the essay component of the interview? Do we do it on a computer or on paper? I am not very good at writing in a short amount of time (and with paper). 🙁

I think that's a good thing! I was batch 1 and didn't hear from UCSF until last Wednesday. I think they are just keeping your application on hold and you'll hopefully hear good news soon 🙂 Better not to hear anything than a rejection!

Sorry to hear that. I know UCSF is a dream school and no one likes a rejection from UCSF, but you always have the option to reapply.

Is anyone scheduled for a November 2nd interview!? I'm coming from Philadelphia (getting there a day early) and am looking to explore the campus and the city - I've never been to San Francisco before!

Go to the Marina and Fisherman's wharf for sure! I went there while I was in SF for my Pacific interview.

I live in Vegas, but San Francisco is one of my favorite cities! My favorite restaraunt on Fisherman's wharf is the Crab House! There's also a "museum" of old arcade games on the wharf that you can play. It's really fun! Enjoy!

When you sent an email back accepting the invitation, did you get a response or confirmation?
 
Ok never mind got a confirmation, I'm always paranoid about that kind of stuff

hey guys, I finished my interview week ago, and my portal had got changed from invited for interview to application complete/ under review. Does anyone have this status change after you finish interview?

Yea, I'd look into that ASAP. I got an auto-response confirmation email minutes after accepting the initial interview invitation.
 
My status turned into "Received/Under review" after the interview. Not sure if the "R" codes for "rejected".. 1 month left and I'm already insane @@
 
Hi there! Would anyone happen to know if UCSF is still offering pre-Dec interviews? I did a bit of stalking on last year's thread and I know a few people did get some around this time so I'm really anxious haha
Would it be alright to just call and ask where they are in reviewing apps??

I got an interview invite yesterday for next week!!!...So yes UCSF is still offering pre-December interviews; hang in there 🙂 and for anyone wondering I am instate and I received the app complete email mid-sept.
 
Got a call too. They offered two November dates, but then after that they only have January dates.
