Hi, can someone please elaborate on what type of applicant UCSF looks for? I'm really curious since I know people who got rejected without an interview with almost 4.0 GPA and 24 AA (after submitting the supplemental). It's possibly pre-reqs since UCSF has some strict conditions for fulfilling certain classes but is it also a personality factor?

From what I have seen and heard, UCSF is a very research and community service intensive school. I believe applicants who have strong research and/or community service backgrounds in particular stand out to them.

Does anyone know what time the interview runs until? I'm catching a flight later that evening.

Yea, mine just switched from "Invited for Interview" to "Received/Under Review" a week after my interview. Does anyone know what that means?

Sorry to hear that. Good luck with other school. When is your mailed out date and when did you receive the supplemental app received email!

I don'tknow but may be they are done with decision ?!
 
Do you guys think they are holding after dec 1 to send out more interview invite? I'm crying every day;(

FYI! (based on doc toothache's guide):
In-State applicants: 887 apply, 162 interview (%int=18%), 75 acceptances(%Acc=8%). %Aoi=46%
Out-of-State applicants: 944 apply, 87 interview (%int=9%), 38 acceptances(%Acc=4%). %Aoi=44%

Interview date all the way in february but still grateful for this opportunity

Should I give up my hope for UCSF? Dec is approaching and I havent even heard anything from them, including a rejection email. (App completed 9/22)

Rejection = all hope is lost. So if you haven't been rejected, then all you can do is stay patient. Hang in there!
 
Hello! Finally got an invite today! My dream school haha.

School: UCSF
Notification Date: Nov 23, 2015
Method of Notification: Email
Interview Date: January 25th (Monday)
Residency: CA
AADSAS Mail-Out Date: 8/7/15 (7th batch)
Supplemental Complete Date: 8/25/15 (Received 8/11)
Under Review: 9/30/15
Science GPA (inc+/-): 3.10, Overall GPA: 3.34
DAT: (AA/TS/PAT/Reading/Below 17): 19/18/22/21/None

Also, just wanted to mention that if you haven't heard anything from them, don't worry like I did. Seriously, so much stress because I've been waiting for so long and there was no word. As long as you haven't gotten a rejection, you're still in the running!! Good luck, everyone!

Thank you. For some reason, this cycle has something against me. Anythjng I hoped for didn't happen as I was expected... I'm really disappointed and upset and also regreted that I applied in mid July. UCSF is my top choice as its my state school , beside UCLA... Dec 1 I will be so bumped for me as I don't expect to hear from other school I have interviewed at( nothing went as I was waiting for, so...)
 
Anyone else worried about the 400k tuition? Has anyone talked to any UCSF graduates?
 
Is anyone else having problem with the supplemental application right now? I called and they told me they'll send another email once it's fixed.

You're right PP. Living expenses aren't included. Still, 330k is a fair price for OOS compared to other schools!
 
that would be nice, but its about 330k for in-state. OOS adds another 12.5k per year, putting you around 380k
