Hey Guys,

They called me at 9:30 this morning. My last name begins in the a-c range, so yeah, they might be doing in alphabetically. Personally, I wouldn't call the school at least today, maybe later on this week. I've heard of one other student getting a call and his last name started in the f-h range. A friend of mine who got in 4 years ago didn't get a call till later in December, around the 20th I think. One of the people who interviewed me called so it may be completely dependent on your interviewer's schedule. Good luck guys!

My name is very low in the alphabet...and my interviewer is probably one of the busiest guys at the dental school.


I still have hope I guess lol
 
No, I didn't. I was a nervous wreck on Dec 1 🙂

For you guys who got in, are you in state or out of state?
 
I called on Dec 1st last year around 2pm or so...I asked if they had given out all the acceptances for the first wave and they said they would be calling all day Dec. 1st and and some of Dec. 2nd. This was last year, however, and I'm sure things change every year. I will mention that last year it seemed like a lot more people were posting that they had been accepted earlier in the day (between 8-11am) on SDN. I have no idea what the protocol is for this year.
 
maybe they moved into the new building and have no money to pay telephone bill.
 
I really hope they aren't done 🙁

One insider said they were done, but idk what to even take from that..... there is literally like no one on this forum that has posted an acceptance compared to the other schools....
 
Only like 3 people have reported getting a call...If they are done it would be really weird
 
First of all, congrats to those of you who have been accepted. Hard work pays off in the end!
Second, if you could be so kind, for those of you who have been accepted, did your AADSAS portal change (normal or mobile)?
 
Were these calls from your interviewers?
 
Someone from the fb group Dat spot, just said someone with a last name starting with a S just received a call

^^^ oops didn't read the above post. They are getting pretty close to the end of the alphabet then.

My AADSAD portal stays as Received/Under review, my mobile also went from blank to Received/Under review and the call was from my interviewer but I don't think it's necessary since I have a friend who received the call from another adcom member.
 
This is a depressing and crappy way to spend a day...I wish they had a better system.
 
One of my friends just got a call...Sent me a text just now...Stay hopeful guys!
 
it's 4:30 and still no call..I guess that's it for the day then :/ maybe tomorrow?
 
It seems like the volume of calls today was really low. Maybe it's just that people on SDN didn't get calls, I don't know. It just seems really weird that so few people are reporting calls.

Maybe they will call tomorrow, too. I hope so.
 
I just flew in to NC this morning at 9:30am (visiting) and have been waiting ever since ><' Does anyone know if they're for sure done today or maybe they'll continue a few more calls tomorrow?? :xf: Best of luck to everyone!!
 
one of my friend just got a call. last name is H. Keep the hope alive guys!!
 
not that i'm complaining that they're still calling but what is going on?! come on unc, get it together.
 
I got the call around 2:30pm and my last name is somewhere in the middle of the alphabet so that theory is def wrong! And the person who called me wasnt even my interviewer.

My stuff on aadsas has not being updated yet.

But one thing I can tell people is to check your home phone # or whatever # you used on your app that's if you put down more than 1 number and make sure that someone with a private or unknown # did not call you b/c UNC apparently called my house phone # that i put on aadsas but luckily my dad was there, picked up and told them to call my cell #

and I put both my house and cell phone on aadsas but i guess they use whatever you put first, I think.

If no one posts on here about getting calls tomorrow morning I will I guess...

If you do call them, tell them that I, for one, do not appreciate their system of informing their applicants about acceptances 😀 It is too slow for us impatient peoples...

Hopefully my words carry some weight at the school 😉
 
Just wanted to say thanks to all of those who updated with the latest information today. UNC is driving me crazy, but I'm still hoping for a call.
 
i'm getting really tired too. but i'm glad i'm not the only one worrying here...
 
I think that the school representatives or whoever call students on their own time, so if you didn't get a call today either your committee member hasn't called you yet or you didn't get in on the 1st round. I remember that my friends got called by different people (one guy got called by another guy from the school, and my other friend got called by a woman), and they were at different times and their last names were the same letter. If that's true, then I wouldn't call the school and ask tomorrow...

Echo these comments. You should be contacted and shouldn't have to contact the school. Look for missed calls and messages for any number you provided on the application. Otherwise there's more opportunities so don't get too stressed over it.

I agree with this. I've heard from several sources that more calls will be made tomorrow, give it another day or two. UNC likes to move at its own pace.
