Got my interview today! OOS from Colorado.
Congrats! Glad your patience paid off, I would say check last year thread (maybe)?Oh my God Oh my God. I got invited!! I guess patience is what I needed after all! So excited!!!! For those of you who are curious, I am an international applicant, so I am more like ooc (out of country). Do you guys know how to prepare for the UNLV interview? Any tip please?!
I have about the same numbers, so you should get invited soon I believe.🙁 I have been checking my email like every 5 minutes. I am OOS from AZ. GPA- 3.68, Sci GPA- 3.61, DAT 21AA/22TS/19PAT
Anyone from AZ get an interview invite yet?
Ok. I am just going to let you know that I am not any close to ' being satisfied' with my stats. Please don't judge 🙁For that being said,Bluemt0211
Not at all...the problem is that i have gpa 3.0 but nbde1 91, good recomandations and lot of experience and i don t know what schools should i follow. I graduated from dental school in Romania and the problem is that i don t think i can increase my gpa. maybe i can increase it here in the usa. Do you know anithing about this ?Ok. I. m just going to let you know that I am not any close to ' being satisfied' with my stats. Please don't judge 🙁For that being said,
SGPA 3.55 TGPA 3.6
21s /21 aa/ 22p
And I notified them that I will re take DAT soon, but asked them not to put my apps on hold (might be the reason why I got invited this early..)
They said that my scores are within the competitive range so retaking is not completely necessary, but still....
If you have higher scores than me then you have a pretty good chance!
Hmm. I don't know for sure but if you already went to foreign dental school, then I believe the school looks for another factors. Definitely call them!!My DAT in Romania is 3.8
Ya I am in such a dilemma.. the thing is though, UNLV takes the best not the recent. So I should give it a try.. may be..😕A 21 AA and TS is about the 90th percentile. I would not advise a retake. Missing just a couple questions more per section could drop you down to a 19, or it could raise your score to a 23+ if you get a few more correct. Not really worth it IMO

I agree with customx, I know UNLV only take best of each session of the DATs (which I think is quite generous), but given your score, I think u should be fine. They won't waste their time and spot on you if they don't think you are good enough. Keep clam and cheer up!!While UNLV may take the best, most other schools average the score or take the most recent. In addition, if you don't raise your score 1-2 points across all sections, it defeats the purpose of the retake. Anyways, only you know what you're capable of. If you really feel you can get better scores then you should do it. Best of luck either way.
Not sure are u asking me or not, but my status was updated as completed at 14 July. The same day they received my last LOR. I also received a "completed and under review" email from them. When did UNLV update your status to complete on AADSAS?

From the experience I had when I attended the sim course, renting a car is the best options, $25 a day with Fox rental. I think I used $10 for gas total.Interviewing on September 19th! Texas resident!
Do you guys know of any hotels that might provide airport and school shuttles?
Also they recommended the Palace hotel...it's actually not too far from the airport and even closer to the school. It's a few bucks higher than a hostel ($25/night...$20/night if you book through airlines, but I think there's hidden sign out fees - with or without airline booking - if I'm not mistaken). I think the added security of knowing your suit and carry on will be there outweigh the cost, plus I plan on walking to the school since it's about a mile away so that saves on taxi fares. From the experience I had when I attended the sim course, renting a car is the best options, $25 a day with Fox rental. I just want to point out that
the school surrounding area is not the safest area. I would say its not a good idea to walk a mile in the morning of your interview.
It's not safe in the mornings? Alright, I'll think about taxiing it then. Good to know, thanks.I just want to point out that

It's not about the time of the day, the school located at a "not so great" area, I was there for the 2 days sim course and that's what the current DS student told me.It's not safe in the mornings? Alright, I'll think about taxiing it then. Good to know, thanks.
You guys were right. I just took DAT bootcamp practice test ( sc only ) and I got 20 from each section, which is lower than my previous DAT score... I was trying to re schedule the test date, but they are going to charge me 100 USD (what the??!)..I agree with customx, I know UNLV only take best of each session of the DATs (which I think is quite generous), but given your score, I think u should be fine. Scheduled my interview for Oct 17th and Im super excited! Now i just need to decide on where to stay. Anyone that knows the area well have any suggestions? Definitely want to avoid the shady parts. Also thinking about making this a weekend trip since my interview is on a friday. Vegas here i come 🙂
Have you guys checked UNLV formula that has been posted on other page?
Why do they care so much about QR and not much on PA and Gchem.. I just re took the DAT and I did everything better, but I only got 19 on QR.🙁 My only hope now is to rock the interview.
Hi can we know when you got the the application complete email and when did UNLV send invitation invite email? I'm just wondering roughly how long it takes them to screen your app. ThanksIm from IN and i got my interview offer a few days ago. Scheduled my interview for Oct 17th and Im super excited! How was your experience last March? Care to share?Mailed my sup last night. Hopefully I get a pre-Dec interview invite this time, instead of that post-Dec invite I got last time for the last day of March..
My interviews went well, they were cool. Is there anything specific you want to know? How was your experience last March? Care to share?
If it is OK with you, could you tell us how student interview was like? what do they ask? Thanks! My interviews went well, they were cool. Is there anything specific you want to know?
With that score, I am sure you will get soon. I think I got an early invitation cause I applied early..Don't worry I didn't even get an interview yet..

Sorry about not being specific, how about the faculty part of the interview? Did u guys did writing exercise last year ?It was very conversational. The guy interviewing me was a d2, I believe. It should have been one on one but a girl in d1 came along b/c she was bored. Usually it takes place in a room with a desk but the guy interviewing me was tired that so we had the interview at GPR (it was empty). He asked about my grades and motivations, I asked about him being a d2 and the three of us just had a conversation. He had a very dry sense of humor.

Just as with the student the interview w/ the faculty was very low pressure and conversational. We had a writing exercise prior to being interviewed, but its nothing to worry about.Sorry about not being specific, how about the faculty part of the interview?
