**** The Official UoP Class of 2017 Interview/Acceptance Thread ****

My application Status on AADSAS changed from "Received/Application Complete" to "Received/Under Review". Is it a bad sign?
In status defined column, it is written "We have received your application and it is in process. It takes up to 6 weeks to process your application. Once your file is complete, we will forward your application to the committee. The committee review will take up to 8 weeks."

Mine did the same thing. Don't worry about it, there isn't anything we can do at this point.

current student here... to ease everyone's mind, my status was "under review" even after i received an interview offer... only after the actual interview did it change to "interviewed" so... whatever it says for the status at this point doesn't matter... what matters is the phone call for an interview. the status on their page is not indicative of whether you receive an interview or not... unless it's like past november, you still don't have an interview, and your status changes to "re-review in january." then you can freak out cuz your chances are slim to none. goodluck yalls!

and honestly i remember my application status went thru all shades of "received/complete" "received/under review" "under review/ allow 4-6 or 4-8 or whatever" i think you're still in the game until it says re-review. and i think last year, by the end of october, they handed out all the interviews for pre-dec. and anything after pre-dec was for an alternate waitlist position because a majority of people who get accepted dec 1. do decide to go there.

also not sure if this info helps anyone... the interviews are mondays and thrusdays. this year they started oct 5 and it usually goes to the monday of thanksgiving break. so i think thats about 13 interview days total before break. each interview is about 10-12 people. they also have interviews the week after thanksgiving... but usually those people don't get accepted on Dec 1. they will usually get the call of acceptance very soon after dec 1.

I had my UOP interview yesterday. There were 10 of us in the group and all of my fellow interviewees had AWESOME interviewers. They were all relaxed and conversational and came out feeling great.

Unfortunately, I had the exact opposite. I got questions fired at me left and right, I felt like many of the tough ones that people hope they'll never get asked, I got asked. It was a Q&A more than a conversation. I'm so depressed today because I can't get the horror out of my mind. The school is wonderful, I understand how top-notch it is and would LOVE to attend there, but I don't think the cards are going to be in my favor. I know I can't change anything about yesterday so I'll just wait until 12/3 for my rejection... :'(

Just wondering if any Canadians have heard back from UoP?

Yep, finally got an invite yesterday! I'm a Canadian citizen but I got my undergrad in the US.

scvpredent, that really sucks 🙁 I don't think you'll get rejected though... don't worry too much about it!

what's going on out there? those who interviewed are waiting patiently till Dec 3rd, I'm sure. are there other dates than Nov 5th, interviewing this month? update us on your status. Good luck everybody

Does anyone know if it's true that they accept the vast majority of the people who interview pre-dec?

is anyone interviewing on the 8th?

Congratuation guys! I guess invitation is really sending out within this week... I also heard that UoP interview to accept! Then if I don't get an invitation within this or even next week, is it over for me?

That maybe true. However, if you don't do well on your interview, come in unprepared, we're still going to deny you.

I wrote negative review on someone last year for performing really poorly during his student interview session with me. Guess what, he wasn't even offered the waitlist.

So it does happen. Just because you received an interview at Pacific, please don't assume you're automatically a shoe in. Show up on time, act professional, and be a true professional.

according to the aadsas guidebook it says everyone was accepted in 2011. so is that false information?

Well, he is trying to say. Do your best. Why do you take that as false info?

It seems like he wants everyone to be prepare which is right thing and good thing.

It is always true and right info when somebody said " do your best "

uh i'm just curious whether or not someone was really rejected after an interview because the official adea guidebook says otherwise. there were also some other discrepancies in the guidebook so that's why i'm curious.

Did everyone who didn't receive an interview get a status update to re-review in January? Is that only sent out to competitive applicants? Or is that their way of rejecting you?

I got a re-review in January status myself. Keep positive about it. Don't automatically count it as a rejection just yet.

Had my interview there today... my faculty interviewer was super intense and serious. I mean he was still nice but just very intense. It was also more of a Q&A rather than a conversation. And I got asked a lot of hard questions too. I think I did well enough, but it just wasn't what I expected from what I heard on SDN and other people.

Also they have you write 2 small writing responses, one at the beginning of the day and one at the end. I think everyone got different questions too. My question at the beginning was "describe an experience, either positive or negative, that you had with group work and what made that experience positive or negative". For whatever reason I chose to write about a negative experience... and then the presentation right after talked about how much UOP valued cooperation and such. I hope they don't take my answer and assume that I can't work in a group 🙁 I should have at least added a sentence at the end about how the experience made me realize the importance of making compromises, delegating tasks, etc, but I just wrote about why it was bad. Oops.

Maybe I'm just over-analyzing now but I think I'm more nervous now than before I had my interview hahah

I got this too. Pretty sure it's a rejection in the works...🙁

How was everything there? How many people interviewed? Were the people nice? Anyone from the undergrad there? I hear they get off easy since they are part of the school/know the staff.

Everything was great. It's exciting that they're moving to the new campus in 2014, so if we get accepted and go there we will get to use all the new clinics (but the old sim labs since that's in year 1 mostly). There was about 10-12 people in my interview group. Everyone -students, staff, and other interviewees - were really nice. There were 2 people from UOP undergrad in my interview group. Not sure if it's easier for them, since they have to go through the same interview process as us anyway.

Not sure...but mine changed earlier today. But if you look at last years thread...those who changed got accepted. Just speculation, but yeah, I honestly don't know what to believe.

mine changed to 'offer made' on the mobile portal; regular portal still is 'please check...'

hopefully it's true

Has anyone without interview got denied?

they put me on for "re-review in january"
Same, re-review... wondering if this is a soft rejection or if this truly is a "re-review" in Jan... fingers crossed

LBJ6, stats if you don't mind? When was your app submitted? Good luck!

i got the same "re-review" a while back. this is for sure a rejection, let's be honest guys
