I just wanted to let you guys know that I just called the admissions office and they said that they will not be revealing the results of their decisions online, and that emails should go out, by tomorrow.

yeah i dont think we will be able to check on the satus page...maybe it will be a totally new page that will be sent by email.

Confirmed w/Admissions status of Admissions decisions. I spoke with the same young woman as yesterday.

Yesterday:

All decisions will be posted online by noon on 3/14.

Today:

No decisions will be posted online. All decisions will be sent by email WITHIN THE HOUR!

BTW...I talked to the first year that hosted me at Penn and he told me that since the waitlist is not ranked their really is no distinction between tier 1 and 2...if you were to either write or better yet call Gaye Sheffler and express your undying interest in attending Penn that would be a good idea. He said, she's been known to talk to some applicants and offer them spots over the phone right there! So for those who really want to go be aggressive, and Good Luck!!! 🙂

Hi. I'm a 1st year at Penn. I've been following your posts to try to find out when people would be notified. I guess now I know. I hope that all the admittees will come to the Preview weekend- it should be a lot of fun. Realize that there are many very good schools and that you should go to the place that you think best fits you-- look beyond reputation. I found that Penn was a great fit for me, but friends of mine made other decisions, and I totally respect them for that. Truthfully, I also know I'd be just as happy at a couple of other schools. But not once have I regretted my decision to go to Penn.

And wait-list people -- don't give up hope. Many of my closest friends were, like yourselves, initially missplaced on the waitlist. (And they always say that all the cool kids come off the waitlist). I've found the process to be somewhat arbitrary. If Penn really is your first choice, let the folks in admissions know that and explain why (esp. to Gaye). But please be truthful. Don't rack up admissions to schools just for fun. Best of luck!

According to the financial aid page, the recipients of the 11 full tuition awards will be notified in their acceptance letter. I wonder if they post this online. To everyone who got in, did the online page say anything about you getting the award?

as for the difference between the two - apparently the lists arent ranked - but still somehow the committee splits us up into two groups - apparently (as per the FAQ) "Candidates have been notified of their tier placement to facilitate students' planning processes."
As i interpret that - tier 2 have less than a snowballs chance in hell, so their telling us to start looking for something else.
