***The Official USC Class of 2018 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

I applied to usc last year and got and interview (pre December)and was in the wait list however this year I have yet to get an interview so far, are my chances poor of getting another one?

Is the interview invite by email or snail mail? Or does it show up on AADSAS?

Last years thread says USC takes their time choosing candidates. Is this true?

Very true. If an applicant is not accepted, they are considered to be on the wait list.

anyone interviewing this wednesday?

how was the interview and how was the PBL session?
I really enjoyed my time at the USC! There were only about 17 of us or so which was very nice, compare to the interview at University of Pittsburgh where they interview 200 people in one day. Everything is the same with other schools in terms of the format of the day's schedule: greetings, some presentations, introducing each other, etc. After that, we were separated into two groups of about 8-10 people for the PBL session. I will tell you up front, don't worry about the PBL session at all! There is nothing you can do to really prepare for the session. Also, you get to answer two random questions you pick out from a basket (like a beauty pageant even though I hate to say it..lol) and I have to say most were pretty random questions. Everyone in my group was chill, no one trying to go after each or what not so I really enjoyed the session a lot. After that, we get to have a lunch with the students who were all super helpful answering our questions and this is the chance you get to hear directly from students who had to go through the PBL during their first and second year. So yeah I can only say everything was as chill as it could be so go enjoy yourself if you have gotten an interview!

I interviewed on 10/29 and it was generally relaxed. My PBL section had 8 people including me. We went around answering questions out of a basket and it was pretty much testing how you speak "on the spot." You can volunteer to be a scribe during PBL. Our group pretty much equally contributed to the discussion. Our PBL facilitator was really funny so it added to the relaxed atmosphere. Just have fun! I thought PBL was really enjoyable. Lunch with the students was really helpful because they try to be real with you and not sugar coat everything about USC.

My AADSAS for USC changed from "Invited for Interview" to "Please check back on December 2 for more information regarding your decision status with this school." Hope this doesn't mean I was wait-listed LOL.

Around what time do the interviews end?

If you skip the tour (last thing), its technically possible but really pushing it.
O man..I hate red-eyes, I have work the next morning. Guess I'll suck it up. Thanks again!

Anyone know when USC will send out more invites?

For people that have interviewed, did you get an email about filling out a form that you are still interested in being considered for a spot at the school?

Any post dec interviews yet? What percent is filled before pre dec?

How do we know if we're waitlisted or accepted on the AADSAS portal?

WL, mobile portal site. 🙁 The anticipation for other schools is killing meeee

Interviewed in early October, and was waitlisted as well. Let's keep our chins up and hope for the best :]!

Wait listed here as well. I wonder if anyone has a different status on AADSAS other than wait listed?!

I was accepted and it says offer made! Good luck to all of you!

Did your status change from wait listed to offer made or from check back Dec 2nd to offer made?

Congrats to those that got in! Did anyone get an email and still have waitlisted on their aadsas portal?

Congrats to all of you. Is it true that they only accept 36 people today?

Just 36 spots? Assuming all 36 people accept, there are still 108 seats left for the waitlisted people + post-dec interviewees to fill in, right? So that's good news for us waitlisted people. Now we just have to wait for Feb to come around.

Yes but I think almost 400 or 500 students get interviewed.

I got accepted today! YES!! e-mail received at 12:36 p.m.

For those who got accepted, can you share your stats?

I really don't like the way USC accepts its students!! In fact I have a hard time understanding how it works! They are one of the most, if not the most, expensive dental school in the country and have a very high turnover rate! The way they fill up their 140 seats each year to me is really bizarre!

did any re-applicants who got interviews from USC last year get interviews or acceptances again from USC this year? Congrats to everybody who got accepted btw

They said at the interview that they're gonna take 36 people. probably they send more than 36 since many people withdraw because they have other schools on their priority.
Received the email on Monday and I'm super happy!

Does anyone know when the next batch of interviews will go out? I know they've done a couple already.

Did anyone receive their letter in the mail yet?

Sorry, I meant did anyone receive their acceptance packet in the mail yet?
