I have a $5,000 nonrefundable deposit down at NYU. It was worth the money to have a backup. I will withdraw from there after I confirm San Antonio!

Yes, I was on the alternate list. I interviewed in October and didn't hear back until the alternate list email in April. I called a few times and they couldn't tell me anything. It was a long a frustrating process, but worth it in the end 🙂

I did a masters but I guess that wasn't enough. I think I messed up on my interview..I met with Dr.Segura afterwards and she just advised me to have a different overcoming circumstance essay..and she kept commenting on how to do well on an interview..so I figured that's where I went wrong. But she wouldn't tell me specifically why the rejected me. This time I am submitting an extra evaluation letter and improving the optional essays a little. And everything else is already in..so hopefully a completed application by end of this month will make a difference...:/
Did you actually call and ask why you got rejected? That seems like a brilliant idea.
She was more than happy to do it? Did she actually bring your app out and go over it?
I admire your, for lack of a better term, balls for setting something like this up.

Yes she was happy to set an appointment with me, then I told her I will be driving down from Houston and she replied by saying she can call me as well, but I preferred to meet with her in person. When I went to her office she had my application out with my picture and all...also had my transcript pulled up on the computer..told me to be updated with issues in dentistry by reading articles etc..it was nice meting her she is great.

I am looking at taking the dat this year and applying next year... any one here in sa that is looking to tutor?? It's been a while since I have taken my prereqs and need refreshing. .. After I graduated with my business degree I decided I like it... Now I'm sad I didn't go into dental...
