Wait... I thought rejections/ waitlists don't come out until after February 9th? My admissions counselor confidently told me this. Did anyone else hear the same?
Annica told me the last interview date was set for the 9th. So I guess they are narrowing it down to who gets the invite? idk but it's making me nervous because I haven't gotten the reject yet.. I applied in July so maybe they haven't made it to mine yet :/

Next round of acceptances will be after interviews have been finished. Looking at posts above, that would be after Feb. 9th

I’m the exact same boat! No rejection applied end of july

Hey Guys! So apparently there is still hope. I got a call this morning to interview on February 3rd. That day and February 9th are the last days for Western's interview days. Good luck!!

Wow thanks for letting us know! I still haven't gotten a rejection and last time I called, she said I was still under review. I couldn't see how that possible with the last dates coming so soon, but they could call me the day before and my butt would find a way to be there haha

They're interviewing on a Saturday? That's kinda cool! Do you mind sharing your stats?

Is anyone flying there? What's the closest airport?

For a spot in the class. I specifically asked that question. Good luck!

Hey just recently got an interview here for the last date and was wondering if its open file or closed and is it an interview with one faculty member and a dental student?and any advise thanks!

Class size is 69 according to my ASDA book. I have no idea about open or closed file. Congrats on your interviews and best of luck!! Maybe just maybe I'll get an invite too, but it's getting pretty late. The 9th is coming so quickly!

Hey it's closed file and correct- one faulty + one student. Had it today- be yourself and good luck!

Same here! I feel ya! Let's hope we both get an interview invite soon.

Best of luck you everyone who has an interview on the 9th! If you're accepted be sure to come and find the rest of your new classmates on the Facebook group! 🙂

Question for current WesternU students or if anyone has the info. Do they use a grading system or p/f? Also how is the rate of specialization if I chose to go here? I know they focus on GP but I feel like their small class size and very involved professor would help in attaining a residency?
Yes we do have letter grades
everyone that i know of for the past couple years has entered the specialty they have wanted
because of our smaller class size we are get a lot of help and attention from faculty, they know you very well!
Here is the best part of the school, NO SPECIALTY PROGRAMS. So guess what this means..... If there is a difficult endo, you get to do it. if the patient needs ortho, you do it. if the patient needs OS, you do it. No specialty program will come take your cases from you. Almost all present and past D4's that i have spoken to, say they do not need a GPR or any residency to feel comfortable with procedure because westernU has allowed them to do it all.
as far as this person:
There is letter grades
No specialties
Ghetto area
Don’t go
Lmao

Ignore them, Definatly come here if you want a progressive curriculum and excellent clinical education.

I got an invite to the preview day a few weeks ago, but not today. Other than that it's been dead silent for me too. If their last interview day is tomorrow, I don't understand why they haven't sent us official rejections. I applied the end of July

Yeah same. I got into one of my top choices but I really wanted to interview at WesternU because I heard great things about their program. I’m sure they’ll be sending rejections soon if they are approaching their last interview date.

I don’t think so. I received the same e-mail and I was accepted. I think it was just a mass email sent to all applicant. Don’t worry you’re still in the game until you get an official rejection!

I saw you were in the asdoh thread too. That's my top choice and my only interview so far. I'm hanging onto hope for acceptance there!
