This thread is for anyone that just went through the craziest semester (or semesters) of their college lives. Your GPA might be in shambles (or on the cliff). You may be dying inside. However, where there is failure...there is a possible comeback

I wanted to make this thread for others in similar situations to share encouragement and advice with one another. Hopefully, we can conquer this coming semester and beyond :luck:

Also, this is my first thread so please have mercy on me if I am posting in the wrong place or something 😕😱😕

I love this, but I think a lot of folks are on the Panic Thread.

I'm all for encouragement and remaining positive! My advisor is telling me that more interviews are happening for a while, and is very optimistic, so let's keep waiting and hoping. :luck:

On a slightly more relavent note.... I kicked off college with a 2.7 after my first full year as an architecture major. I switched majors to english and pre-med, took a bunch of summer classes to catch up... took an extra year to finish a biochem major and graduated with a 3.64 and honors in both of my majors.

It can definitely be done, but you have to really want it to make the commitment to turn everything around.

Best of luck!

Strong is relative... I didn't get in last year. Scored one interview at state school, waitlisted and then rejected at the end of the summer... I applied super late this year to 4 schools (thought I would get in off the waitlist and didn't have the money to reapply)... but I'm planning on reapplying this June.

I'm very surprised the username "lilwayne" has been available all this time.

WHAT? with an app like that?

how many schools did you apply to, and did you apply late that first time?

it's just that your app seems perfect. it covers all the basis well, and your numbers are very good

I got a 1.8 in one semester freshman year, and still am going to a US MD. Can't tell anymore for fear of identification, but anything is possible with a good enough MCAT and LORs.

I had an even lower GPA and am also going to a USMD. Definitely possible. Even easier if you're a URM 😉

There was a song that collegehumor did a while ago called "I didn't start the flame war"

This made me think of it, haha
