...is that afterward I feel so relaxed that I am useless for the rest of the day. Of course, this is not all the time. After the piriformis tenderpoint I was not even close to being relaxed. It would be better if lab were moved to, say, 7PM.

Anyone else find this to be true?

Sorry, I am not a student yet, but I wanted to kind of spin your post around. Are there any times when your partner screws up in OMM lab and you end up in pain?

There have been a few times where I had some discomfort, yes. I'd imagine as well if the is no dysfunction, but you're treating, depending on the technique it might be uncomfortable. We haven't gotten to more "intensive" treatments yet so I just speculate.

That doesn't sound like a problem. That sounds like you're lucky. I can't remember a time I left the OMM lab without more "tenderpoints" than I came in with. 😳

Hell yes. I had never experienced TMJ before in my life until the jaw dysfunction lab. I was in pain for a week after that lab and I sporadically have bouts of TMJ ever since.

True enough. I got my neck cranked the other day...I didn't have a PC5 tenderpoint prior to that. I chucked the cranker and got another student to treat it-good as new!

Should have gotten treated by an attending right after to fix it.

Actually I did, and not to disparage him, because he's an excellent practitioner, but he made it worse.

When I was a first year...back in the day, we had OMM first thing Wednesday morning. The rest of Wednesday sucked. Wait...all of Wednesday sucked.

my advice is to be careful with cervical HVLA - don't let your fellow students carry that #$*% thru on you unless you've had them practice the position first!

I know we all need practice but it's better if you start out making sure you know all the steps before you actually thrust -- i've had annoying headaches from that for sure.

Yes, essentially I had my prostate checked while someone was trying to palpate a posterior pelvic tenderpoint.
