Hello guys, I am really confused here, I called AADSAS but I am still confused 😕

When I registered for dentpin/DAT, I chose some schools that I want my scores to be sent in. But this list is different than the school designations I choose in my application on AADSAS.
(I added more schools)

Do I need to request Dentpin to add more schools to make two list same?
If AADSAS uploads my scores directly, what is the point of choosing schools for DAT registeration? Won't these schools get my DAT score through AADSAS ? 🙁

I think they only look at the official scores that are sent out to the schools that you signed up for on the DAT. That's why I just picked every school for the DAT to send out. It doesn't cost anything extra.

I've heard mixed reports on this. The one that makes most sense to me is following the directions from the ADA. If you need your scores to go to more schools than you selected at the time of registering for the DAT, you have to go back to the ADA and pay $30/school to add them. That's why, as the user above has stated, selecting them all at the time of registration is the best thing to do if you're not sure of the schools you are applying to at that time.

However, I've heard a few reports of users who didn't go back and add schools and somehow the schools still got the scores. This I'm not so sure about. If you call the ADA, I'm sure they'll tell you that you need to pay. Hope some past applicants who have experience with this will chime in.

ok..I called AADSAS again, they told me the school designation I selected on AADSAS is what is important,and that I don't need to add more schools on dentpin......


I called ADEA..and they said the same thing, except he added some schools may not accept scores from AADSAS in which case they will contact you, or check with them first yourself to avoid the delay.


I doubt schools that are using AADSAS requires separate score sheet to be sent in tho :S why would they do that?

so if addsas shows dates of when the DAT was taken, does that mean they also have the scores and they are not posted yet?? I took my DAT in December and did not apply in 2011, so I'm confused as to if the schools I selected received my scores back in December. And if they did do they hang on to them or what?

I think, when you make school designation list on AADSAS, all your past DAT scores under your dentpin are sent to those schools at the time of the application. So my guess is that it doesn't matter whether the schools still have your score or not, because they will receive your december score through AADSAS anyways........ Then again, you should call maby 2,3 schools to check what they need!

Do you have a received date? That's as good as it gets on that screen. There won't be any actual scores. Don't worry about if the schools have them on file or not. The scores pass through AADSAS via your DENTPIN and the schools will get them.
