I recently retook my DAT and got a 20/19/19 BUT i got an interview before my retake at midwestern with my old scores : 19/18/15 haha yeah they are kinda terrible. So there is hope y'all!
 
If you have a few hundred dollars to blow, I say go for it. It is worth a shot, you have nothing to lose but money. I have yet to hear from NYU though, I was complete a few months ago, just saying it might take a while to hear back.

Applied to 28 schools (hey, ya gotta do what you gotta do).
Interview invites so far for: Creighton (went today), ASDOH, and Western.

I have about 300 research plus an internship. And about 500 shadowing/dental volunteer hours.
I know my AA is what's killing me and Science sections are what really did it over so I applied to 11 schools.
So far two rejections 🙁 LECOM and CWRU. Still trying to keep my head up though, since I know people get in every year with lower stats! (even though it's not many)

I got my first interview invite from UB yesterday, with stats on the lower end!!!! I am in-state, TS 18/AA18/PAT20. My undergrad GPA was 3.2, however, I did a Masters and got a 3.7 GPA :]

Love this thread! I have an 18 AA, 17 TS, 21 PAT. and a 16 QR.
Applied to 12 schools... 1 interview so far and 0 rejections.
3rd time reapplicant... 2 years assisting... 3.7 gpa 3.3 sgpa. Masters in December. Not giving up 🙂

3.2 ogpa, 3.5science, Applied to 13 schools.

Application in 8/10. I worked as a dental assistant for the last 5 years on winter/summer breaks. I was a math major. In a post bacc pre-dental certificate program now taking biochem and anatomy (FUN). Have heard nothing yet. Dont know if that is a good or bad thing but Im saying its a good thing I havent received any rejections.... yet

Uconn (instate), tufts, BU, lsu, Midwestern az & il, USC, unc, creighton, temple, Baylor, western, and Marquette

I am in need of a hug. I'm freaking out.

AA 19 TS 17 PAT 20
sGPA 3.76 tGPA 3.82

Non-trad candidate (former opera singer/summa cum laude US undergrad+European post-grad/mom of a son with developmental differences). Thousands of hours of community service. 50+ shadowing hours with one dentist. I could only apply to two schools because of logistical reasons (the kid's therapy, etc). My app at one is listed on ADEA AADSAS at "complete." Is that a rejection?
 
What did your Midwestern rejection look like? Was it after you submitted a supplementary?

I am pretty sure those are just the schools they applied to. Could be wrong.
 
Omg no haha I WISH! Someone asked what schools I applied to... I haven't heard back from any of those yet, tufts doesn't even start inviting til mid October

Update:

With my 18/18/17 I have had 6 interview invites (Temple, UMDNJ, NYU, Tufts, BU, Meharry) out of the 8 schools I applied to 🙂
 
everybody please state if you are URM or NOT LOL. Sorry but u don't want to give everybody false hopes.

...seriously? Not, but this is a big pet peeve of mine...just because you are a URM does not mean that you will automatically get into dental schools. And who are people to complain if 2 or 3 URM's get into dental school over someone else. Does it really impact people that much! You can have great stats but still not get in because maybe your EC's are low or your personal statement sucks, or you went to a crappy college.

For me I think my EC's helped me so much. It's not just about DATs.
 
I see what you're saying and everyone has their own opinion on this subject. I personally have never had an issue with it because I value being part of a diverse student body, and I think that's how most schools see it as well. I guess the pros outweigh the cons for me.

Congrats on your interviews as well! I can't wait for December!

sorry I truly don't mean that URM is automatically accepted. But sometimes it is hard to believe that people with 22aa+ dat and high gpa get less interviews than others with lower stats. I understand that EC plays a role but i think dat+GPA are most important.

I am actually NOT a URM with average stats and that is why I dont' want to be too confident.

I regret NOT applying this cycle 🙁.. I am URM!!! I took DAT August and got Better scores..I applied before with low DAT scores and I did NOT get accepted ANYWHERE..So URM can help but you also need high DAT and GPA
