how were you doing on your AAMC practice tests? i have heard this year that the real test feels harder than these...
 
Yeah, I felt raped after my test on the 30th, and I was doing great on the aamc 3-10. I'll let you know know how it went in 8 days and 7 hrs.

app got verified last week with cGPA of 3.25 after retakes (3.1 sGPA).

also got my MCAT scores back, 32Q!

Definitely gives me a little bit more confidence as I'm working on secondaries. 🙂

Oh God, in 7 days I'll find out if I'm getting kicked out of the underdogs! considering the all practice tests scores I hope I did well, but just incase, don't worry guys, I'll keep this alive next year! Insomnia for the next 7 days!
 
rejected from dmu pre secondary. they didnt even wait for my new mcat scores. basterds. I also havent heard a peep from pcsom wcusom and umdnj (my state school). i know they want you to just submit the secondary right? I dunno I havent yet cause its 90 bux and im waiting to get paid but still havent gotten a confirmation email from them or anything. other than that Im complete at every school exept pcom philly and lmu dcom, which both should be recieving my supplemental....today baby. but most schools are waiting for my mcat scores which should be here 9/13. i just want some of this interview action. cliff is on fire man. im jealous.👍

I feel your pain man. I got rejected pre-secondary too. My first rejection🙁
I was on such a good roll with like 10 secondaries
How did you find the PCOM secondary? I havent started it yet
Also did you apply to Touro-NY?

I didnt find it all that bad, i wrote like 3/4 of a page. I did not apply to toury NY but they only send you a 2ndary if you get an interview. but pcom wasn't bad at all.

You wrote 3/4 page for the whole thing or just the first question thing? 3/4 including all the health care experiences?

I got an interview from NY and i was pretty stoked but now i keep reading on SDN its nothing special at all, they interview a **** load of ppl

Just the first question. I attached a seperate page for the healthcare experience I just listed them
 
Crap I'm pretty sure I didnnt list healthcare experiennce for pcom but I did for pcom georgia. Dammit. I will have to sennd it in tommorow. They haven't. Received my supplemental for pcom yet but its in the mail and I forgot to attach it. Hmm. Should I call? I guess ill just send it in tommorow

I plan to finish both PCOM by tomorrow night but i really have trouble with these "why our school" questions.

yeah thanx lol. yeah the why osteopathic medicine and what determined why you want to be a do isn't bad at all. But the why us? u kinda have to kiss a little butt. I guess thats life though. I wrote about the history of the school and how established it was etc etc the alumni network blah blah blah. I did include some stuff about me bieng a DO and the osteopathic profession though Im pretty sure and then had it lead into why pcom. hopefully thats good I guess.

I would send UMDNJ's admissions office an email. They have been fairly quick with returning emails. Best of luck man. Keep at it and this thing is going to happen for you.

The invite from LECOM-E took me a while as well, even though I submitted it at the same time as Bradenton's. I heard from Bradenton, like, a month before Erie's came through. But hey, better than never, right? Our chances went up just a little bit!

I applied to NSU as well. I was beginning to think they were giving me the cold shoulder, fade to black treatment. I officially got my first rejection the other day from BU, so, I guess my imagination is starting to run wild. What a rollercoaster this process is...
 
If any of you have an iPhone/iTouch, Kaplan is currently giving away some e-books in the iBooks app. One of the books, Real Life of an Internist, is a pretty interesting read if you have some free time 🙂

I ended up grabbing all medically related books, including the MCAT and USMLE prep books, just because they're free :laugh:

I didn't see the free usmle and mcat ones i have to look harder, I did see:
Corpus, Socrates Xenophon, The Evolution of Medicine, Med School Rx, Socratic Dialogues, time to keep looking

I haven't posted on here in a while...got an interview from Touro-NY. Apparently they give out a lot of interviews but its better than nothing!

Congrats everyone on your interview invites. We are looking pretty damn good so far. Hopefully some of the people with TBD MCAT scores are starting to receive their grades so we can update the front page. I have an ipod touch and I will be picking up those free books. Does anyone know if they are available for Android (froyo)? I have been digging but havn't found anything.

Download the iBook app and check out the store within the app. You should see something that says "Kaplan" and "100 free books"

As far as I know, it's not available on Android phones and is exclusive to Apple products running iOS4 🙁

I might be wrong, but I think iBooks is more than just an app. It might be a service, like iTunes and exclusive to Apple.

you can download iBooks through iTunes appstore, either search for it or go to top free apps and its one of the top 10 apps!

hey thanks alot. they want you to just send it in. drated up my essays today. provly finish them up by early this week and have it out then. thanks again that was real nice of you to say🙂
 
Hey Guys I guess I'll add my name to the underdog list. I applied last year and didn't get an interview anywhere. I am back with a few changes, hoping this is my year. I have a 32O MCAT 12P, 10V,10B with a 3.44 cGPA and 3.21sGPA. I have turned in most of my secondaries but have yet to hear form NSU or NYIT. I gotta figure they have screened me out since my application was verified on the 10th of August. Haven't received an interview yet. I applied to 24 schools altogether between MD and DO and would be ecstatic to get just one interview. I'll keep you posted on my run.

I agree, you are not an underdog lol. You can fill out the NSU and NYCOM secondaries without being invited; they invite all applicants to fill them out. If you haven't gotten an interview yet, it may be because you were complete later than the people who are currently receiving interviews. Patience is a virtue 😀 (especially in this process!)

I think I'm a borderline underdog. MCAT 28O and a 3.15 sgpa. Although you all may disagree 😀. I've been following this thread for a while, and it's so awesome to read about people who have worked hard to get to the point of interview/acceptances! SDN can be frustrating at times... some of these other applicants have such great numbers! But as you guys know, numbers only get you so far. Congrats to everyone who has defied the odds so far. Keep it up!
 
You can fill out the NSU and NYCOM secondaries without being invited;

How do I log into to their websites without a username and password? Thanks though, that would be a terrific help.
