Dude, a school randomly telling you 'apply here with your 3.0/24 and we will see about scheduling you for an interview' translates to 'we will gladly take your secondary fee.' Trust me. I know you haven't applied yet (which is why this argument is horribly pointless), but I can't even tell you the number of schools that write things very creatively to get you to send in that secondary fee. I had a school in Florida (I didn't even bother to send in the secondary) that wrote me numerous emails essentially saying the same thing the school is telling you ... the dirty truth - it was an automated email they sent to everyone 😱
Wake up man ... do you really think the school is going to tell you that you have no chance or that they aren't going to remember you the second you walk out the door after you've come to visit??? You'll realize WHEN YOU APPLY that you aren't the beautiful snowflake you think you are, and your 3.2/25/shining personality isn't blowing anyone out of the water.
You quoting one school with bad admission stats doesn't mean much to me ... especially in the DO world where newer schools have lower stats, and some of the older big dawgs still have slightly lower admission standards, despite the fact that they get 3500 applicants for 150 seats (aka they use slightly different criteria, meaning you may be alright stats wise, but you've got a ways to go).
Listen, here's the point ... you realize your stats aren't good, and you want to go to medical school. So you come in here, rally, etc, and that's fine. However, don't get all defensive when someone comes in here and tells you to take a quick swig of reality. You can pull out anecdotal stories or quote individual school stats until you're blue in the face, but the bottom line is that you're stats are low and you're competing with thousands of people who have every bit of spunk you do, but also have 3.5/28s. This is the reality of the situation. SO, again, I'm not saying you won't get in, I'm not even saying you won't get in above some of those people with higher stats, what I am saying is that I see no point to throw yourself out there at such a disadvantage, and being defensive about it will get you nowhere.
Additionally, you "denying" my application is pretty lol. Get admitted, then you can make little quips.
