Description: A great opportunity for a highly-motivated individual who is interested in participating in clinical/translational research involving various aspects of cutaneous oncology/dermatologic surgery including, but not limited to, scars, lasers, advanced imaging devices such as optical coherence tomography, and surgical wound healing.
There is a tremendous opportunity for publications by being part of a very prolific research team. This fellowship also involves collaboration within the department, as well as other specialties in the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Responsibilities include participation in dermatology clinics, Department of Dermatology grand rounds, noon lectures, and bi-monthly melanoma/cutaneous oncology conferences, writing manuscripts, presenting work at national conferences, and assisting with a number of investigator-initiated clinical/translational research projects.
The University of Miami is well known for its Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery and its commitment to training and developing leading scientists and clinicians. The Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery has consistently ranked as one of the top dermatology departments in the nation. In addition, the various faculty members promote a collaborative and supportive environment that is well suited for training and educating students.
Eligibility: Highly motivated individual with, preferably, completion of two years of medical school.
Availability: Starting as early as May 1, 2017, but date is flexible. Fellowship offers are usually for 1 year, but length of time is customizable to the fellow’s goals.
