Hey guys, (sorry if this was asked, but I looked at the search results already)

Do really need to know about plant biology?
What about all the nitty gritty nuclear physics?
Any other things I should focus less on?

There's a list on the AAMC site with every topic that's required. If you're shooting for >30, know everything listed! (plant bio is not required).

ok. I was just curious because I was going through some flash cards today and they had something about plant bio and I was like 😱 "is this really on the test"? Thanks

If it's not on AAMC list of concepts (or the Official Guide), the chance is you will not need to know it. This means that it is unlikely that a question will have you identify the species of tree.

But you are expected to draw from basic knowledge to something that may be obscure and not directly stated in the list, and with some discrete questions, they can and will ask something that may not be found in any prep course, but more something that you would've known if you took more courses. An example would be details in anatomy.
