Instead of going to India, you guys should look into go to the 6 year medical program at St. Andrews in Scotland.

It's a very prestigious school (Prince William went there!), they have a high acceptance rate for American kids because they have a quota, and the tuition is not as expensive as you think.

Some articles about the school in general:
NYTimes:

Washington Post:

Business Week:

The only drawbacks are:
-I believe the 6 year program would run around 250k
-They are some specific requirements for medicine, like AP Chem and you take the UKCAT (offered in the US), which is like an IQ test I believe.

Pros:
-Your parents will be happy because your "saving" time compared to the US system, even if you factor in the year off you will take to finish up your steps
-You get to TRAVEL around Europe and study abroad for 6 years

I went to India, and it was an OK experience. This might be a better choice. I don't know any other info about the school
