Hi Guys!

Im pre-med and am considering DPT as my plan B. I was wondering..
Whats DPT like? Is it still satisfying to be a doctor of PT rather than an MD? Im really interested in areas like Sports medicine, and I also know that PT has much better hours as compared to MD's. What's it like to be a DPT? Whats work like? Is the curriculum wayyy diffferent than medical school??
Any advice will be helpful!
Cheers!

If your heart is set on being a physician, go to medical school.

The curriculums are very different. PT school is much less focused on pathology, microbiology, biochemistry, and pharmacology, and much more focused on kinesiology, biomechanics, etc.

Work depends on your setting: PT's work in acute care settings, ICU's, peds, outpatient, orthopedics, neuro, cardiopulmonary, wound care, geriatrics, etc etc etc. It is much easier to "switch" specialties as a PT than as a physician.

In my opinion, if you are interested in sports medicine, you can train to do anything that a PT can do, but you will always have your autonomy and ability to prescribe medicine.
