thanks for coming. now that you are here I have a question.

I just received an invitation to interview for January 29th. This is so much later than my other ones that I feel like they were almost scrapping the bottom of the barrel. does this imply that I am lower on their list and thus have a worse chance of acceptance than for earlier interviews?

any stats on % of acceptances from early vs. late interviews?

need more information

I am not amazed.

Schools apparently give interviews throughout the season, and some people who get these interviews apparently get in. If you have been complete since summer, they probably passed over you a couple of times ("on hold") before granting the interview so your chances might be a little lower than the earlier invites, but who cares? Is that going to change whether you choose to interview?

My daughter interviewed late Jan and got acceptance early Feb last year (Wake).

That was a dirty trick OP 🙂

It depends on the school. If you have been complete for a few months, then as another SDNer said, your file may have been set aside for review later. Some schools interview stellar applicants before December, and those that are along their median stats from January to April. For non-rolling admissions schools, it doesn't matter as much when you interview, because they make major decisions at particular dates in the application cycle. Perhaps if we have more details, such as what school you are concerned with, we can help you out a little more.

you do have a worse chance, but you do have a chance. unless you've already been accepted, I recommend going to it.

its at one of the top 3 us news ranked places...

will i need to try extra hard to stand out as opposed to earlier interviews?
