OK, I'm stuck.
Big decision time.
I'm applying to psych training in the US, have done Step 1& 2 with poor scores. That said I've got 4 interviews lined up and the CS booked to be taken before the end of December. The problem is I've also been offered two good jobs in Australia (where I'm from). The training in the US will be a little bit shorted but not much (6 months or so). My dilemma is, given that it's a much bigger risk to move internationally than interstate should I pursue coming to the US, which will end up costing a reasonable amount or simply take the path of least resistance and stay in Australia. I can't really elucidate why i want to come to the US other than a sense of adventure and opportunity- but I'll probably work harder for less money than I'd get in Australia. and there are all the hassles of visas and the like... Any thoughts appreciated.

IMO,

You don't seem to have really concrete reasons for coming to the US and at the same time have great opportunities close at hand.

You have already invested a considerable amount in the US process, but have four interviews and no guarantee of a position.

To complete the US route, I presume that you'll need to take the Step 2 CS, interview and hope for a position.

So, IMO, it comes down to this: Do you want to follow the "sound of distant beating drums" or take the cash?

Tough call. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. Still up in the air...
