I apologize if this has already been asked -- I searched but couldn't find a clear thought or answer.
I have received secondaries that have allowed the simultaneous MD and MD/PhD consideration, but was wondering if it harmed my chances of an MD/PhD if i chose to be considered by both simultaneously: maybe it shows less interest in the research aspect, or perhaps an increased interest in the school. For background, my app shows 3.5-4 years of research (2 full time years, 1.5-2 years of part time undergrad)
Thank you guys!
Edit:
of course, for a research heavy school, I can have a reason for applying MD, but thinking more broadly, does it make me appear less interested in the PhD, or that I'm looking for free tuition.
