Thoughts on most meaningful experience

Would it be weird if I just don't label any of my experiences as most meaningful? I kind of don't want to write anymore and also feel like it just adds extra stuff for them to read that they don't want to read.

Yes it would be weird. If they don’t want to read it, they won’t, but at least they’ll be able to easily identify which experiences were important at a glance.

Failing to do this would make you stand out in a bad way.

Don’t fill the word limit if you don’t have something to say but yeah if what you are doing to get ready for med school means nothing to you, it’s weird.

I would label/write something. I don't sit on our med school adcom, but if I did and got an application that didn't have that, it would in general give me the impression of someone who truly was just just checking off boxes.

To clarify, this is in ERAS for residency not for med school. I already jumped through those med school hoops I am on my next set of hoops. I also have what I think are good responses and use up most of our 750 character limit.

Agreeing with the others - just put something in. A lot of medicine is about not standing out in a bad way.

The fluff stuff actually ends up being super helpful at the interview stage. Makes it easier for faculty who haven’t seen your application until 5 minutes ago strike up a conversation about something interesting. So be nice and give them something to ask you about in a few months that you actually want to talk about.

So jump through the residency hoops and write something most meaningful.

I agree with @operaman . The MM likely won’t get you an interview, but it absolutely shapes my questions at the interview stage.

You can't. You have to list at least 1 experience as most meaningful.

A MM essay for ERAS is 750 characters, right? That's not much.
