My friend told me that taking three classes and two half credits(two music classes like voice lessons and instrument lessons) for example would look bad since that is only three real classes? What do you guys think? I am only doing this to lighten up next semester for MCAT prep.

Does it look bad if I do that for two semesters? As in three classes and two half credits for two semesters? Because I need to take the half credits twice for it to count at a full credit to be considered as full course.
