I've seen this used a few times on threads, particularly when it comes to initial aacomas verification... What does this mean? I couldn't really understand it from the context of the threads... I saw it a lot in WAMC
It is a strategy used when applying before your MCAT score comes in.
If you apply to a school you do not want to attend, get verified, and then find out your MCAT score is poor - you can cancel your application. This way you will not be a reapplicant at schools you do want to attend. If your MCAT is sufficient, then you just add all your schools to the verified application.
If you already have your MCAT, then there is no point.
^ Not necessarily. Some people opt to go ahead and submit to a "throw away" school to begin the verification process. So long as you have your personal statement finished (you can't add that), you can craft other parts of your application while waiting for verification (you CAN add experiences, achievements, evaluations, etc) after submission. Or at least that's my interpretation of the "throw away" strategy.

I guess that could work as well.
