How long does a school typically give in order to decide whether or not to accept and acceptance? Is it enough time?
Then after that period, is the acceptance revoked?

Thank you!

<3 u guys

It depends on when you receive your acceptance. Most schools have different policies, but if its in late summer, you may have a month or 6 weeks. If it's in late winter or early spring, you may get a week or two. If they accept you they will tell you when it is due. And by accepting, that means you pay them $$.

It depends on your acceptance letter. If they don't hear from you in time, your spot goes to the next person.

I know there are some outliers, but what is the typical initial deposit fee to accept a seat in a class? Do most people pay multiple deposits until they're confident they've heard back from all of their top choices?

Just to add -- once you've accepted and paid your deposit to one school, do other schools see that and would that influence their decision to also accept you?

Typical fee is ~$1500, but some have additional fees you have to pay later to retain the seat, so total may be $2000-$3000. A handful are much cheaper (like $100-$500). All deposits are applied to your tuition when you matriculate, so you aren't losing the money of you end up attending.

Most DO applicants don't pay/hold multiple seats, because of the high cost. MD schools have much lower deposit fees ($100-$300) that tend to be refundable before a specific date. That said, unlike with the DO app process, there is also a restriction on when you can hold multiple MD seats (there is a date in the cycle after which you can only hold one) and schools see whether you were accepted by another school after a certain date.

Not with DO schools (they don't see where you get accepted). That does happen with MD schools though.

Obviously, TCOM is an exception because Texas schools use TMDSAS, which has its own way of doing things.
