Time for a change

HI everyone

I have not been on the forum for quite some time. Yesterday was the first day I came home before midnight for the last 20 days. I had lab work,my seminar to prepare and 2 exams to take.

School is getting really busy now and I don't think I will be able to devote as much time as I would like to for MOD duties. I don't like to do something less than perfect and so I think I need to relieve myself from the post of MOD.

I will be speaking to Gavin and DrMom soon. In the meanwhile, I need suggestions about selecting a new MOD. I was thinking all of you could send me your individual choice and I could tabulate the votes at the end of say a week and pass on the decision to Gavin and co. Naturally the final decision rests with them but we could let them know.

Its been a great pleasure being MOD here and I will continue to write in when ever I can. Wish all of you the best of luck with admissions.

If he is interested, I would nominate Khurram. He is a recently accepted, well known student who has been through this entire process recently.

He is used to taking abuse from time to time on the forum, so this position would be a natural fit.

Just kidding about the last point Khurram , but I am serious about the nomination.

BDS-DMD, I believe you have done a great job as a MOD. Thanks for your efforts so far and please continue providing your input on the forum whenever you have time.

fido, khurram, divya,sunita kaul........are good recommendations, .............i too recommend them.they r experienced, hav been on this road, are very helpful, tolerant, very interactive and have a strong voice.........and people like them.

Yes,
I think Fido would be the most appropriate choice for fulfilling the duties of a moderator since he is an active member and always keeps himself updated with the latest happenings on SDN.Moreover he has played a major role in encouraging everyone to keep the hopes up ! 👍

So in view of most of the posts, I feel Fido a.k.a. Prady is the popular choice. I was a little concerned about the fact that he is not in any program. But on thinking more about it, I feel that will work to his advantage as then no one will accuse him of being biased to his school.

I will be talking to Gavin in a couple of days.

If any one has a strong OBJECTION to Fido as MOD, please PM me. I am almost sure that will not be the case but I want to make sure no one is unhappy with the choice.

I would also like Fido himself to say if he is willing to take on the responsibilities of MOD.

Personally I like helping others behind the seen and will continue to do so. fido is busy with interviews probably, so unable to reply probably, and moreover we understand his priority right now is to get in a program...........and we wish him well for it, and i am sure he will accept to be the MOD.........coz he knows he can help people who are gonig thru what he did last year, fido is the best!!!!! all of us recommend him!!!!

Hey BDS-DMD, just wondering ...
Was it because of whoever we proposed not being percieved as "qualified" for the MOD. post ? I know that you are bee-busy at school, and would definitely appreciate to be relived from the extra resposibility and time consumption.
If so, are you authorized to suggest any other members for MOD. or how does it work ?
Who would you suggest ? I would say, if possible, that you and Gavin/DrMom recommend possible candidates, and we can all re-vote on that. What say you ?

😕 😕 hey what happened to the idea of changing the moderator.I am interested in some one who can be there when we need help.eg. FIDO..no offence but BDS-DMD is hardly on the forums.also if fido likes the idea we can have more than 1 moderator.like they have for the dental forun on SDN.
