Time for some Movie recommendations

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I think you will find some of these interesting.

Battle Royale (2000) The Japanese Government puts a group of kids on an island and makes them kill each other.
Quick (2011) Korean remake of Speed on a motorcycle rather than a bus.
Bad Kids Go To Hell (2012) A Trouble maker, popular girl, Nerd, Jock, and a loner are put in Saturday dentation. While there they are killed one by one.
Bright (2017) A human cop and his Orc partner must work together to keep a powerful magic object from falling into the wrong hands.

I didn't mind "Bright". Not Will Smith's greatest work but I still enjoyed it.

Great recent documentaries.

Series:
Dark
Suburra
Marcella

Movies:
I Am Mother
Coherence
Timecrimes

Jack Ryan... super amazon TV show. Military/intelligence/Drama/action.
Just finished it and am looking forward to the next season.

Ready Player One-The book was sooo much better. I was disappointed. It was almost as if it was not based on the book at all.
Yesterday-The one about the guy who awakens to find out no one has ever heard of the Beatles is a nice movie. It is an interesting concept and a fun time waster.
Bohemian Rhapsody-was outstanding. As a kid who grew up listening to Queen and a classic rock music fan, I enjoyed it a lot. They took some liberties with the story, but it is mostly based in truth.
Rocketman-I was a big Elton fan from the early 70's (when he played actual rock music) then he went too pop and mainstream. The movie was disappointing for me. Not bad but not as good as I had hoped it would be.

All-time favorite older dramatic movies:
-O Brother Where Art Thou
-No Country For Old Men
-Shawshank Redemption
-There Will Be Blood
-Gangs of New York
-Fargo (the movie)
-The Dark Knight

Favorite older comedies:
-Hot Rod
-Borat
-Office Space
-Tucker and Dale vs Evil

Succession on HBO is so good.
I saw this post and was just about to add this if anyone else hadn't. I really liked the first season of Westworld, second was rough.

Free Solo, which several mentioned, was great, and if you're at all interested in adult beverages, Somm was really interesting.

Train to Busan is a fantastic korean zombie movie. Best zombie movie I’ve seen in a couple of years.

Hereditary was decent if you’re into scary movies.

Great recent documentaries.

Speaking of Maiden....

Just caught Iron Maiden in Sacramento.

I made a short documentary about the first year of medical school if anyone is interested. It's not dystopian, but it's only 11 minutes and (hopefully) enjoyable

The First Year:

Want to laugh? Watch ‘Super Bad’ ...

Want mindless 30minute entertainment? Watch ‘Ballers’ ....

Want some deep psychopath action?
The Joker...

Just finished watching the following series:
Stargate Atlantis
Stargate Universe
Farscape
Expanse

Highly recommend all of them.

Stuff I've watched reruns of:
Stargate SG1
Firefly
Serenity
Jack Ryan (TV Series. FU Ben Affleck)

JoJo Rabbit - best movie in the last 5 years.

Writer/director did Thor Ragnorok. Also did another amazing movie no one has ever seen - called “Hunt for the Wilderpeople”

Dawn Wall is another great one.

Meru is ok as well.

Meru definitely did not have the budget nor the camera-work of Dawn Wall and Free Solo, but that’s also because you can’t get a crew up on such a difficult and dangerous alpine ascent. Hell, Mugs tried it twice and failed.

Great recent documentaries.

+1 for the Biggest Little Farm (on Hulu).
