A couple of years ago, when I typed something like PCAT, PharmD, MD into a Google search engine. The links that screamed for attention left no doubt that a wealth of information regarding anything pharmacy, medical education awaited. It did not disapoint.

I have read the blogs of pre-medical students who many are now in medical school. One pharmacy student, who used to blog is now a P4 at NOVA. She was already going on P2 when I found out about SDN. Another (dgroulx) graduated from UF and regrets having gone into retail. Still another (trancelucent 1) is following her path into residency and is a UF alumn.

I have read suggestions of veteran pharmacists (SDN1977 and others) and you were not cheated of information. In all, these information have proved useful. Someone else's PCAT, GPA was not going to get me into a pharmD program and I never asked such trivial questions. Rather, the approach to the pharmacy application is what helped. I searched for motivation to pursue pharmacy vs medical school here. As if I was doing a research paper, I could pull posts I've read when appropriate to make a point. SDN, became another hangout in the blogosphere of forums. At times, informative or just a chatter-box machine with inputs from real people, some of whom will be my classmates.

Well, the time has come for me to say good-bye. The time has come for me to graduate...

To graduate to the PharmD students forum 😛 :meanie:

Now, if I could recruit Passion4Sci, a great thinker to the forum but I'm not sure if he's already in pharmacy school. I'm hungry for great, intellectual posts to feed my inquisitive mind. Or even of good writing appropriate of future PharmDs. The great thing, is that SDN has them all: the nerds, the blabber-mouth, the angry, the jovial. Many have something in common: they are either on their way or are already PharmDs. They are all smart individuals. These are my future colleagues in the blogosphere of pharmacy forums.

Where will I be in four years? Hopefully having graduated from UF and into a residency spot in beautiful & sunny Florida.

I was actually interested to see if this was someone retiring from SDN for whatever reason.

I totally feel the same way 🙂

I've refrained from posting too much in the pharmacy student forums, because I didn't feel that I "deserved" to be there. I'm not saying my goodbye to pre-pharmacy yet, nor am I changing my status to "pharmacy student" until classes actually begin.

But I am excited to get there!!

Is this the mickey mouse show? I dont think so.

I mean this in the nicest way possible but all ur posts are getting a little repetitive. These "reflection posts" are a little emo (ex. Guilt factor, Now that you're IN...).

We get it. Congrats on getting into Florida tho. Now time to start posting in the pharmacy forum... 😎

Amy congrats on getting into NOVA. We would have been classmates, I let the deadline pass. See you in four years! Not on here, cause I don't intend to be. But I do find it hard at times, to start anew.

ahh, goodbye pre-pharmacy applicants....I will miss you guys:cry::cry: I will never forget my first post in the pre-pharmacy forum...that was 3 years ago....After 3 years of rejections, I can finally say I will be pharmacy student...I will graduate to the Pharmacy Forum....thank you for my questions answered ...for all the support....thank you for letting me vent all my frustations after 3 years of rejections...I would like to thank my mom, my sister, most of all my teachers for all the LORs, and my dog for his unconditional love....I will surely miss you guys....:cry::cry:

To the next step!! lol

Indeed its time to say good bye. I cant believe it could have been so straight!!! SDN pre-pharm thread was a great resource. Had it been not there, I would have not gotten through the interview at University of Minnesota. Nonetheless, its not the time to graduate from SDN. All those who have made it through the last step,...we'll meet at Pharmacy Thread..and those who are still working hard to get ready for the future application cycles, good luck and feel free to shoot out your questions at Pharmacy thread. All of us up there, will strive to lend our helping hands..
Miss you all guys..

Somebody should ****** this OP. Passion4Sci uses the limits of language against you. Using his/her own unique experience, Passion4Sci forces you to accept positions that do not clearly disprove your own take about a certain issue. To stiffle your ability to clearly disprove his/her position, Passion4Sci makes unacceptable references to irrelevant idiosyncrasies about your writing style without considering your intent.

As long as Plato(Passion4Sci) is alive, we cannot move on to the next level.

Finally, I wish all the graduates of prepharm well.

Indeed, I use my unique gift of awesomeness to stiffle all of you. Most of all you, Luwical.

But, Gator, you don't have to go. Why can't you have a dual citizenship with Pre-Pharm and Pharm? I mean, WVUPharm does it, so does Liquid, why can't you? Don't abandon us in our time of need. =/

PS - Luwical, I love you man.

PPS - Nothing about idiosyncrasy is irrelevant! That's the beauty of language, not its limit.

Well I for one still read the pre-pharm forum....no need to say goodbye. It's always good for a laugh or a study break. 😀

did you not get the memo above? 😀

anyway, tell me where your sunshine filled residency will be, i'm looking for the beach woot woot! hahaha

Guys, don't think of this as a goodbye, but rather a new beginning...

For all of you out there, who want to come down to the 3rd best beach in all of florida, let me know... we can study, kick back with a beer, and watch the waves...

What's the rush? None of us fall 2009 applicants are actually "Pharmacy Students" until the day we start our first day of class. I mean, it's called a conditional acceptance for a reason. :d

You could very well miss orientation and then get kicked out of the program before you even had a chance to step into the lecture hall.

Speaking of which, just a few days ago, in the backdrop of these very non-threatening waves, of the vast and beautiful ocean of Palm Beach, I popped the question.

She said YES! 😍

I guess I'll be one engaged pharmacy student!

P.S. I may post about it in the Pharmacy forum.

Congrats GatorRomp, on all your accomplishments.

Congratulaions GatorRomp!😀 You deserve the absolute best buddy!

Congrats on your engagement GatorRomp. As for the pre-pharm forum, I will impart my knowledge when asked for to those pursuing the ultimate goal of becoming a pharmacist to assist in any way possible. But I get to hang with the cool kids now! 😛
