Hello. I didn't apply to Tuskegee last application cycle nor the cycle before that, either because there wasn't an application online and you had to send in a request for an application ....or because I couldn't get the application to load...can't remember which! It just seemed like a really daunting process. Well, I would really like to apply this cycle and I found they have an online application. The only problem is it wont load!! This school seems nearly impossible to apply to. Perhaps they just aren't technologically advanced? Any tips on how to apply?!

Are you using a minority web browser? Cameo, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc? If so I would try it in Internet Explorer. Some web pages don't play equally nice with all browsers, so I would try a different one if you haven't already.

And the school is back to full accreditation so thats a plus for them now.

They also may not have the application available at this time. I know VMCAS isn't open right now (or at least it wasn't at this time last year!) Why don't you call the admissions office and find out?

I can't believe no one went anywhere with this...

Does anyone know if they give any preference to TU grads? And how strict is the 6 year moratorium on the science courses? I am a TU grad and I would think I would not need to retake my science courses if I took them at Tuskegee as an undergrad?

I would recommend contacting the vet school directly and asking if they will make exceptions for non-traditional students.

Because their application process is seperate from VMCAS, and they do not supply information to AAVMC on a regular basis, it may be hard to find solid information other than from them. You could try going through the Acceptances threads from previous years and contacting vet students that went through the process.

They may have more information about who you should call or e-mail.

Hope this helps. :hello:

THanks Truth. I think I will just ride down on day. I can get alot more done if I am actually there on the campus.

When you apply to TU, you have to apply by using the online app. The website has most likely not been updated yet. If I recall correctly, I started working on my app. in June (08). Just keep checking the website and you will know when the new app. cycle is up and running. The app. is not complicated at ALL!! It seemed easier than the vmcas app. The only thing that annoyed me was that you have to hand write your ps. Now as far as giving students preference....I have no clue. I got in, but I can't speak for others who applied and did not get in or got in. Feel free to ask any questions you have...I may be able to answer some!!
