at our teaching hospital we have to stand during the whole clinical hours,,,and at the end we all dragging our legs...( the only thing making rotations freaky for me....)
so do u have any such experience? if yes how do you manage it?(or say how do you strengthen your legs????),,,,

lean against the wall, bring a book to read on rounds like Boards and Wards, go to the bathroom during rounds and pop a long squat, talk more so time goes by faster

My Grandfather was a Marine turned Police Officer who fought in the Pacific. He always said the best piece of advice that he ever got for dealing with exhausing situations was something he learned in the Marine Corps: 'never stand when you can sit, and never sit when you can lie down'. 🙂

I wear compression/support stockings when I know I will be on my feet all day on rounds or surgery. Even just the knee high ones you can get at WalMart (for men or women) help quite a bit with the fatigue. Oh, and gel inserts for my shoes.

good breakfast, pocket snacks, good shoes (danskos), support stockings, sneak away and sit somewhere even if its the bathroom, if you're by yourself interviewing a pt - I always sit down, lean against something if possible -- eventually you will get use to it.

Ugh. I feel your pain OP. I've tried Danskos, shoe cushions, leaning against the wall and shifting my weight but I still have feet pain no matter what. On top of that I have a severe need to fidget all the gd time which only worsens the sensations. My condolences to you.

I know some people really like the compression stockings. I have danskos they help. I'm really kind of one of those people whose constantly moving so I think I have less of a problem. Also sit when you can.

I also move around a lot
