I saw the previous thread where a student was inquiring about the clerkship/residency situation in Tucson.

Tucson Medical Center is teaching out the current 3rd years and will no longer have a program.

Banner is applying for a new program as there is no option of “just transferring” the program. My understanding is they are going through the approval processes and may start with one position.

VA Tucson currently takes 4 residents per year.

During a few of my clerkships I was with the same student who went to Azpod. She told me that some of her Arizona 3rd year student rotations were better than clerkships she did 4th year. Better attendings. Better cases etc. Maybe she was blowing smoke but hopefully they'll find some good opportunities.
