Due to holds on my account, I was just now able to register for Fall 2016 classes at my university. Should I send an official transcript to TMDSAS that shows what classes I will be taking so that they can match it to the "Planned Coursework" section?

Nah, it's not really necessary. Just make sure to send a new transcript after fall 2016 grades are posted.

dumb question but what falls under extracurricular activities? I feel like almost everything on my application could fit under that but that’s like me copying all the other sections and putting them under extracurricular activities. For example, would being a TA, peer mentor, and student ambassador fall under that category as well?

I would list them in both sections & emphasize different aspects when necessary. From the Extracurricular/Leisure Activities page of the app:

"Dental/Medical Applicants:
If you have activities that fit into more than one of the categories below, you should list the activity in each section. We recommend that you list activities in multiple sections if they meet the criteria in more than one category."

How many extracurricular & leisure activities is it advised to put? I have like a gillion, but I read not to overload it.

For those using Interfolio, what does it mean when the status of your letter is "accepted"?
Does it mean my letter writer accepted my request to write one? Or does it mean Interfolio accepted the submitted letter?

I emailed Interfolio but forgot that it was Memorial Day Weekend lol

I believe so. It should say Received when you have the final letter in your dossier.

Believe Baylor has it?

Thanks for responding-

Yeah Baylor has a secondary application, but no secondary fees. I just wanted to confirm that neither UTHSC-SA nor UT-Houson have secondary fees.

Nope they do not have one.

Omg I completely forgot about that. How do I access that secondary application again?

For the optional TMDSAS essay, do you think it would be better to discuss a W on my transcript from my sophomore year or something about me like a unique experience about my hobby? I want to talk about my hobbies because my personal statement mentions my academics, service, and dental aspirations, but I do not want to seem like a robot. I want something personal to make them see that I have a life besides academics. The W has a legit reason behind it and when I took the class again, I made an A and received a 4.0 each semester following it.

I would talk about your W because it can look bad on your application but when you explain your reason, it can level you out with the other applicants. Maybe put some of your hobbies under extracurric/leisure and describe them? I just feel that they would want to know why you had to withdraw from he class and retake it.

Ok that seems more reasonable! Thanks!

I was told to NOT talk about any negatives in your essays. I personalyl wouldn't talk about it..unless it truly was an extenuating circumstance.
However it can go both ways. You want to highlight your strengths. Usually in interviews, they will either you ask about it or they may not.

hmm really? One of the admissions director came to my school and told us if we have something that can look bad on our app, it's best to use the third essay to describe what happened. I also know several students who wrote about classes they failed freshman year of college and stuff.

I see.
Guess we heard different stuff then lol
My situation is different than yours since I am a reapplicant. I was told to really highlight my strengths and unique qualities.

Now I some deep thinking to do about this... Thanks for your input though!

I currently have the third essay addressing my poor freshman year but was worried if I should do this or not as well

Not sure if this was answered yet but for those who are using a committee letter, what does FICE mean on your application?

Also, for those using Interfolio, make sure your dentist submits the letter with an official letterhead and it needs to be signed.

My letter was rejected by TMDSAS and that's what they said. I don't even know what an official letterhead is or how to tell my dentist... :/

I think they just want the name of the clinic at the top. Like a logo of the clinic or something

So if it says Received on the TMDSAS portal for your rec letter (sent via Interfolio), does that mean you're good?
